All the Heads of Gov!. Schools are hereby informed that:

1. In Surnmatfve Assessment-I 2016-17, the maximum duration of thequestion paper for 'Nishtha' Group students of classes VI to VIII shall be 2hours and that for "Pratibha" group students it would be 2:30 hours.

2. There shall be separate question papers for both the groups. Thequestion papers of 'Nishtha' group will be exclusively from the syllabusprescribed for this group. Similarly, the question paper for the 'Pratibha'group will be from the syllabus prescribed for this very group.

3. The Summative Assessment-I 2016·17, of 'Non-Readers' of 'Nishtha'group of classes VI to VIII will not be conducted centrally. It shall beconducted by the concerned schools at their level by, preparing their ownquestion papers as per the learning level of students. Model Papers willbe put up on website. (Non Readers are defined as a child who cannotread his/her class appropriate text.)

4. The Question papers left over with the schools of 'Non-Readers' of'Nishtha' group of classes VI to VIII may be used for practice of thesestudents as and when they reach the 'Reader' level.

5. Guidelines and Revised Date Sheet of Summative Assessment-IIFirst Term Examination- 2016-17 are enclosed herewith.

Heads of Schools are directed to ensure that this information isdisseminated to all the concerned teachers, students and theirpare nt5/guard ians.

This issues with the prior approval of the Competent Authority.

Examination/Summative Assessment -I (S.A.-I) 2016-17

Common First Term School Examination / Summative Assessment-Ifor 2016-17 is scheduled to be held w.e.f 19/09/2016 (Monday) forMorning & Evening shift schools separately for the students of Govt. &participating Govt. Aided schools of Delhi sludying in classes III to XII.The following instructions are being issued for strict compliance by all theconcerned.

1. It is mandatory to write Student's 10 on the Answer Script.Award list and all the documents related to examination. ClassIn charges may ensure that each student of their respective classknows his/her 10.

2. HOS may ensure that invigilator in the Examination Room putshis/her signature clearly in the space provided on the answer scriptand at the end where student finishes his/her answer I writing.

3. The blank page/space in the answer scripts must be crossed by theinvigilator to avoid any manipulation when the exam is over.

4. No cutting I overwriting in marks in award list as well as in theanswer script by examiner will be acceptable.

5. Head of Schools may ensure proper sanitation, lighting, drinkingwater & furniture etc during the examination days and provide stressfree environment to the students.

6. Proper record j e. Account of Question Paper, Invigilation DutyRegister, Seating Plan, and Evaluation Record etc must be kept inExamination I Principal Room, in a systematic way, for inspection bythe higher authorities.

7. The following information has to be mentioned on the firsf page ofthe answer script. .

8. Sealed cartons of Question Papers of Common First Term SchoolExam I S.A-I (2016-17) shall be delivered at all Zonal DistributionCenters (ZDC) between 6:00 a.rn. and 7:00 a.rn. on each day ofexamination. All the ZDC Incharges must be present at 6:00 a.rn.positively at their respective centers to receive the cartons.

9. Cartons of Question Papers are not -to be left unlocked orunattended at any cost. Its violation will be viewed seriouslyand strict action will be initiated against erring HOS! lncharqeZDC.

10.Packets of Question Papers for Nishtha and Pratibha Groupstudents will be supplied in separate coloured envelops.

11. Distribution of Question Papers by ZDCs will start at 7:30 a.m.for Morning Shift schools and at 11 :00 a.m. for Evening ShiftSchools.

12.The official must be having authority letter for collection ofquestion papers and marking schemes and should be a regularemployee of the concerned school. HelShe should not be belowthe rank of Lab Assistant.

13. Preference has to be given to far flung schools of the Zone so thatthe Ouestion papers may reach in all the schools well in time.

14.Two sealed packets both for Nishtha and Pratibha Groups persubject per class containing 25 Question papers each will beavailable as Extra at each zoe to meet out shortage, if any.

15. Proper Record of Extra Question Papers must be maintained atZDC level daily.

16.ln case of delay in receiving the packets of question papers by anyschool. Incharge of Zonal Distribution Center may inform to ExamBranch (HQ) immediately on 23890010/23890270

17. Marking schemes in sealed packets will also be supplied onthe next day of the Examination.

18.AII Zonal & District DOEs may be requested to conduct surpriseInspection during Examination days.
