8 Saving the Game

you are victorious in a battle.

Pre during gameplay tobring up the pause screen, thenselect "Save Progress" to save yourprogress up to that point. To restartfrom that point on your next play,select "Resume" from the SelectMode screen.

● Do not repeatedly reset thesystem or intentionally inputincorrect controls. Do notremove any Game Card/SD cardinserted into the system whilesaving. Make sure not to getdirt in the terminals. Theseactions could result inpermanent data loss.

● Do not use external accessoriesor software to modify your savedata, as this can lead to aninability to progress or loss ofsave data. Any modification ispermanent, so be careful.

9 Selecting a Scenario

A playable warrior with th icondisplayed by his or her portrait isconsidered a Recommended Warrior,which means that he or she will beat an advantage in that particularscenario.Each scenario has a RecommendedElement, and RecommendedWarriors can wield a weaponbelonging to that element, thusdealing more damage to enemies inthat particular battle.

13 Battles

Once a battle starts, you will betasked with various missions.Complete each mission in turn tomove closer to claiming overallvictory in the battle!♦ Touch the mission information

shown at the top of the touchscreen to check your currentmissions.

Enemy troops spawn from enemykeeps and outposts. Proactivelycapturing these keeps and outpostswill give you and your allies a greatadvantage in battle.

If one of your allies is in trouble, tryto help them out. Make your way totheir side before they are defeated,and some of their health will berestored.You should bear in mind that if anallied commander is forced to fleethe field of battle, or if the AlliedBase is lost to the enemy, you couldlose the battle as a result.

If there are multiple controllablewarriors on the battlefield, switchingbetween them will make it easier tocomplete missions and aid yourallies. You can also ordercontrollable warriors that you're notdirectly controlling to head to agiven location or attack a certainenemy.♦ To switch to a controllable

warrior, touch that warrior's iconon the touch screen.

♦ To issue orders to controllablewarriors, touch anywhere on thetouch screen map.

Giant enemies have lots of healthand high attack power, making themdifficult to defeat. However, mostgiant enemies are susceptible toattack from a particular item.When facing one of these giantenemies, have a look through yourinventory of items to see if you havesomething that might do the trick.

After a certain point in the game,you'll get an Ocarina. Using theOcarina will let your warrior warp toany activated Owl Statue on thebattlefield.

♦ The Owl Statue must firstbe activated. To activateone, approach it and pressthe button displayed onscreen.

When controllable warriors gathernear a Giant Boss, Smash BoostPower will be activated! This willgive those warriors certain bonuseffects, advantageous in battle. As more characters gather, strongereffects will activate. Join forces withyour allies and battle together!

14 Outposts and Keeps

Outpostscontinuously spawnreinforcements ontothe battlefield.Defeat the enemyoutpost captain totake control of thatparticular outpostfor your side.Conversely, if anallied outpostcaptain is defeated,then you will losethat outpost to theenemy.

Enemy keeps will also spawn enemyreinforcements, and will block theadvance of your forces.

On most battlefields, each forcewill control a base. Be careful -if the Allied Base is taken bythe enemy, you will lose thebattle. Bases are marked on the

map wit (Allied Base), and

(Enemy Base).

In order to capture an enemy keep,you will first need to defeat enoughenemies within that keep to reduceits Keep Meter to zero. Once theKeep Meter is empty, a Keep Bosswill appear. Defeat the Keep Boss tocapture the keep for your side!

15 Weapon Elements and Skills

Every weapon belongs to anelement, and some of its attacks willbe boosted by an elemental effect.

Water

An enemy that isattacked will continueto take damage overa set period of time.

Fire

An enemy sent flyingwill explode when ithits the ground,causing damage toother nearby enemies.

Lightning

Attacks inflict extradamage on enemieswho are in mid-air.

Darkness

Attacks inflict moreand more damage asyou unleashcontinuous attacksagainst a singleenemy.

Light

Attacks inflict moreand more damage asyou unleashcontinuous attacks ona group of enemies.

Selecting a warrior bearing a weaponof the Recommended Element for aparticular scenario will allow you toinflict more damage on the enemiesin that scenarioWarriors marked with th icon onthe Select Scenario screen can useweapons imbued with theRecommended Element and areconsidered recommended warriors.

Some weapons are imbued withskills.Skills come in many differentvarieties, granting a range ofbenefits on the battlefield, such asmaking certain attacks stronger.♦ To check the skills of your

currently-equipped weapon, pressSTART during battle to bring upthe pause screen and then select"Warrior Info", followed by"Weapon Skills".

At the Smithy in the Bazaar,weapons can be fused, transferringa skill from one weapon to another(as long as the weapons are of thesame type).

Some weapons skills start out"sealed" and are notimmediately effective. A sealedskill becomes unlocked afteryou defeat a certain number ofenemies with it. You can seewhat a sealed skill is by havingit appraised at the Smithy.

17 Gaining Levels

Defeating enemies will slowly fill upyour experience gauge. When thegauge is full, the warrior will levelup, which means increased attackstrength and maximum health.Additionally, levelling up mid-battlewill fully restore the warrior's healthand fill the Special Attack gauge.

Choose a warrior you would like tolevel up, then enter the Bazaar. Atthe Training Dojo, you can spendRupees to make the warrior level up.But remember, the higher thewarrior's level, the more expensive itwill be to increase!Moreover, you cannot use the Dojoto increase a warrior's level beyondthat of your current highest-levelwarrior.

Some weapons you find might comewith skills that give them specialeffects, useful for battle. By fusingweapons at the Smithy, you cantransfer skills from one weapon toanother. You can also remove skills,appraise sealed skills or sellweapons.

Choose the warrior you want to fuseweapons for, then enter the Bazaar.Select "Fuse Weapons" in theSmithy to spend Rupees on fusingweapons.

In addition to the mixtures youcan create, you can also gainaccess to potions, which willallow you to regain health atany point during a battle.To use potions you must firstcraft the "Empty Bottle I"badge in the Badge Market.Additionally, crafting the"Empty Bottle II" and "EmptyBottle III" badges increases thenumber of times you can usepotions in one battle. Your Empty Bottles will beautomatically refilled after everybattle, so there's no need topay for top-ups.
