General Safety• This appliance is intended to be used in household and

similar applications such as:– farm houses; staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other

working environments;– by clients in hotels, motels, bed & breakfast and other

residential type environments.• Do not change the specification of this appliance.• The operating water pressure (minimum and maximum) must

be between 0.5 (0.05) / 8 (0.8) bar (MPa)• Obey the maximum number of 15 place settings.• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the

manufacturer, its Authorised Service Centre or similarlyqualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

• Put the cutlery in the cutlery basket with the sharp endspointing down or put them in the cutlery drawer in ahorizontal position with the sharp edges down.

• Do not leave the appliance with the open door unattended toavoid stepping accidentally onto it.

• Before any maintenance operation, deactivate the applianceand disconnect the mains plug from the socket.

• Do not use high pressure water sprays and/or steam to cleanthe appliance.

• If the appliance has ventilation openings in the base, theymust not be covered e.g. by a carpet.

• The appliance is to be connected to the water mains usingthe new supplied hose-sets. Old hose sets must not bereused.

Installation

Warning! Only a qualifiedperson must install thisappliance.

the temperature is less than 0 °C.• Follow the installation instructions

supplied with the appliance.• Always take care when moving the

appliance as it is heavy. Always usesafety gloves and enclosed footwear.

• Make sure that the appliance is installedbelow and adjacent to safe structures.

Electrical connection

Warning! Risk of fire and electricshock.

• The appliance must be earthed.• Make sure that the parameters on the

rating plate are compatible with theelectrical ratings of the mains powersupply.

• Always use a correctly installedshockproof socket.

• Do not use multi-plug adapters andextension cables.

• Make sure not to cause damage to themains plug and to the mains cable.Should the mains cable need to bereplaced, this must be carried out by ourAuthorised Service Centre.

• Connect the mains plug to the mainssocket only at the end of the installation.Make sure that there is access to themains plug after the installation.

• Do not pull the mains cable to disconnectthe appliance. Always pull the mainsplug.

• This appliance complies with the E.E.C.Directives.

• UK and Ireland only. This appliance isfitted with a 13 A mains plug. If it isnecessary to change the mains plug fuse,use only a 13 A ASTA (BS 1362) fuse.

Water connection• Do not cause damage to the water

hoses.• Before connection to new pipes, pipes

not used for a long time, where repairwork has been carried out or newdevices fitted (water meters, etc.), let thewater flow until it is clean and clear.

• Ensure that there are no visible waterleaks during and after the first use of theappliance.

• The water inlet hose has a safety valveand a sheath with an inner mains cable.

Warning! Dangerous voltage.• If the water inlet hose is damaged,

immediately close the water tap anddisconnect the mains plug from the mainssocket. Contact the Authorised ServiceCentre to replace the water inlet hose.

Use• Do not sit or stand on the open door.• Dishwasher detergents are dangerous.

• Do not drink and play with the water inthe appliance.

Indicators

Indicator DescriptionEnd indicator.

Rinse aid indicator. It is always off while the programme operates.

Door indicator. It comes on when the appliance door is open or is not cor-rectly closed.

Before first use

Caution! Remove the protectionfilm from the control panel.

Options

Desired options must beactivated every time before youstart a programme.It is not possible to activate ordeactivate options while aprogramme is running.

Not all options are compatiblewith each other. If you select noncompatible options, theappliance automaticallydeactivates one or more of them.Only the indicators of the stillactive options are on.

If an option is not applicable to aprogramme, the related indicatoris off or it flashes quickly for afew seconds and then goes out.

Activating options can affect thewater and energy consumptionas well as the programmeduration.

DryPlusActivate this option to boost the dryingperformance.The combination of DryPlus and rinse aidensures even better drying results.

DryPlus is a permanent option for allprogrammes other than P4 (ECO). It isautomatically activated in next cycles. Thisconfiguration can be changed at any time.

Every time P4 (ECO) is activated,DryPlus is off and needs to bechosen manually.

How to activate DryPlus

Press .The related indicator is on.The display shows the updated programmeduration.

ExtraHygieneThis option provides better hygiene resultsby keeping the temperature at 70 °C for atleast 10 minutes during last rinsing phase.

Settings

Programme selection mode and usermodeWhen the appliance is in programmeselection mode it is possible to set aprogramme and to enter the user mode.Settings available in the user mode:

• The activation or deactivation of therinse aid empty notification.

• The level of rinse aid according to therequired dosage.

• Activation or deactivation of the acousticsignal for the end of a programme.

• Selection of the colour of the TimeBeam.• The activation or the deactivation of the

optionAutoOpen.

As the appliance stores the savedsettings, there is no need to configure itbefore every cycle.

How to set the programme selection modeThe appliance is in programme selectionmode when the display shows theprogramme number P4.After activation, the appliance is inprogramme selection mode by default. Ifnot, set the programme selection mode thefollowing way:Press and hold RESET until the appliance isin programme selection mode.

How to enter user modeMake sure the appliance is in programmeselection mode.To enter the user mode, press and holdsimultaneously and until theindicators , , , and flash and the display is blank.

The rinse aid empty notificationThe rinse aid helps to dry the dishes withoutstreaks and stains.The rinse aid is automatically releasedduring the hot rinse phase.When rinse aid chamber is empty, the rinseaid indicator is turned on notifying to refillrinse aid. If the drying results aresatisfactory while using multi-tablets only, itis possible to deactivate the notification forrefilling rinse aid. However, for best dryingperformance, always use rinse aid.If standard detergent or multi-tabletswithout rinse aid are used, activate thenotification to keep the rinse aid refillindicator active.

How to deactivate the rinse aid emptynotificationMake sure the appliance is in user mode.

Acoustic signalsAcoustic signals sound when a malfunctionof the appliance occurs. It is not possible todeactivate these acoustic signals.There is also an acoustic signal that soundswhen the programme is complete. Thisacoustic signal is activated by default andyou can deactivate it.In addition, an acoustic signal soundsbefore the AutoOpen opens the door. Thisacoustic signal stops only if AutoOpen isdeactivated.

AutoOpenAutoOpen improves the drying results withless energy consumption. During the dryingphase, the door opens automatically andremains ajar.

AutoOpen is automatically activated withall programmes excluding (ifapplicable).To improve the drying performance refer tothe DryPlus option or activate AutoOpen.

Do not try to close the appliancedoor within 2 minutes afterautomatic opening. This cancause damage to the appliance.

Setting and starting a programme

The Auto Off functionThis function decreases energy consumptionby automatically deactivating theappliance when it is not operating.The function comes into operation:• 5 minutes after the completion of the

programme.• After 5 minutes if the programme has not

started.

Starting a programme

Caution! Do not remove thebaskets from the dishwasherbefore a wash cycle.

1. Keep the appliance door ajar.2. Press the on/off button to activate the

appliance. Make sure that theappliance is in programme selectionmode.

3. Press or repeatedly untilthe display shows the number of theprogramme you want to start. Thedisplay will show the programmenumber for approximately 3 secondsand next the programme duration.

4. Set the applicable options.5. Close the appliance door to start the

programme.

Starting a programme with delay start1. Set a programme.2. Press repeatedly until the display

shows the delay time you want to set(from 1 to 24 hours).

The delay indicator comes on.3. Close the appliance door to start the

countdown.While a countdown is running it is possibleto increase the delay time but not to changethe selection of the programme andoptions.

When the countdown is completed, theprogramme starts.

Opening the door while the applianceoperatesOpening the door while a programme isrunning stops the appliance. It may affectthe energy consumption and theprogramme duration. After closing the door,the appliance continues from the point ofinterruption.

If the door is opened for morethan 30 seconds during thedrying phase, the runningprogramme ends. It does nothappen if the door is opened byAutoOpen function.

Cancelling the delay start while thecountdown operatesWhen you cancel the delay start you haveto set the programme and options again.Press and hold RESET until the appliance isin programme selection mode.

Cancelling the programmePress and hold RESET until the appliance isin programme selection mode.Make sure that there is detergent in thedetergent dispenser before you start a newprogramme.

End of the programmeWhen the programme is completed thedisplay shows 0:00 and the indicator ison.All buttons are inactive except for theon/off button.1. Press the on/off button or wait for the

Auto Off function to automaticallydeactivate the appliance.

If you open the door before theactivation of Auto Off, the appliance isautomatically deactivated.

Hints and tips

GeneralThe following hints will ensure optimalcleaning and drying results in daily use andalso help to protect the environment.• Remove larger residues of food from the

dishes into the waste bin.• Do not pre-rinse dishes by hand. When

needed, use the prewash programme (ifavailable) or select a programme with aprewash phase.

• Always use the whole space of thebaskets.

• When loading the appliance, make surethat the dishes can be completelyreached and washed by the waterreleased from the spray arm nozzles.Make sure that items do not touch orcover each other.

• You can use dishwasher detergent andrinse aid separately or you can use themulti-tablets. Follow the instructionswritten on the packaging.

• Select the programme according to thetype of load and degree of soil. With theECO programme you have the mostefficient use of water and energyconsumption for crockery and cutlerywith normal soil.

Using rinse aid and detergent• Only use rinse aid and detergent for

dishwasher. Other products can causedamage to the appliance.

• The rinse aid helps, during the lastrinsing phase, to dry the dishes withoutstreaks and stains.

• Detergent tablets do not fully dissolvewith short programmes. To preventdetergent residues on the tableware, we

recommend that you use the tablets withlong programmes.

• Do not use more than the correctquantity of detergent. Refer to theinstructions on the detergent packaging.

Loading the baskets

Refer to the supplied leaflet withexamples of the load of thebaskets.

• Only use the appliance to wash itemsthat are dishwasher-safe.

• Do not put in the appliance items madeof wood, horn, aluminium, pewter andcopper.

• Do not put in the appliance items thatcan absorb water (sponges, householdcloths).

• Remove remaining food from the items.• Soak items with remaining burned food

in water.• Put hollow items (cups, glasses and pans)

with the opening down.• Make sure that cutlery and dishes do not

bond together. Mix spoons with othercutlery.

• Make sure that glasses do not touchother glasses.

• Put small items in the cutlery basket.• Put light items in the upper basket. Make

sure that the items do not move.• Make sure that the spray arm can move

freely before you start a programme.

Before starting a programmeMake sure that:• The filters are clean and correctly

installed.• The spray arms are not clogged.

Unloading the baskets

For better drying results keep theappliance door ajar for someminutes before you remove thedishes.

1. Let the dishes cool down before youremove them from the appliance. Hotdishes are easily damaged.

2. First remove items from the lower basketthen the upper basket.

At the end of the program watercan still remain on the sides andon the door of the appliance.

Care and cleaning

Warning! Before maintenance,deactivate the appliance anddisconnect the mains plug fromthe main socket.

Dirty filters and clogged sprayarms decrease the washingresults. Make a check regularlyand, if necessary, clean them.
