10. Do you feel safe in your community? _110__ Yes _12__ No

If no, why not? No one can truly be safe anymore or anyplace with gridlocked politicians and laws that seem to favor the

crooks more than the safety and security of the innocent citizens! Just look at scams and identity rampant

among us due to electronic devices.

We were robbed while and home and in bed sleeping.

16. Is there anything else you would like to tell the Office for the Aging or the County

Legislators about services for the citizens of Allegany County? I think you do an excellent job with services. There are many when I need them. Have used tax service for

years.

Yes= you must begin to realize that such things as state sales taxes and all other out of pocket charges like

co pays, tariffs, surcharges, and passed alone to consumer fees etc. They are wrong for everyone on fixed

or limited to poverty level. Where is out money going that we no longer can use? When can I become

exempt?! Much of the above was made worse when my wife did 2-26-216 and her share of my social

security would not be available to me to help pay utilities etc. Please I need help.

Stop penalizing people that worked their whole life and are now retired. You do more for people whom

sat home their whole life and never worked a day! (welfare)

We need better cancer care. Many of my friends with cancer have to travel to Rochester and Buffalo for

treatment.

Wonderful service and JMH ER inpatient. Helpful kind people in Andover and Wellsville.

We think they all do an amazing job. We enjoy the picnic at angelica.

Not about services for aging but I am new to Allegany County and seems if you are not family or friends

with local government you are treated differently.

Your lunch site at YMCA is great location for seniors using the bus for meal and shopping at Kmart and

Tops. YMCA has water aerobics good for seniors. Maybe they could add extra exercise programs for

seniors with hip or knee replacements, arthritis who are too frail to do regular classes.

Services are fine except we need a grocery store.

Do something (drainage) about our 3rd

country dirt road

Sales tax income is always an issue why do we transport via bus, people to Olean to shop at Walmart etc.

Catt County gets a lot of our sales tax money

Our own place for our meeting place without YMCA connected. Like we had on Main Street Wellsville.

We had triple the people coming for lunches and games.

More mailings/ newspaper info on what is available for dealings with the elderly. Family support,

transportation info on end of life care

Keep our county beautiful, have people responsible for cleaning up after animals on public roads, quit

making a mess with brush cutting

Put employees to work cutting brush instead of making a mangled mess with the machine

Thank you for your services, Lynn Oyer, visiting nurses.

Would be nice to have vetted contractor list, yard clean up services, taxi, coffee house, permanent farmers

market (like Broadway market) social services (Theater, music) aged exemption on taxes, senior

discounts on local businesses, educational programming and trips

We need a senior living facility that is not based on income

Property taxes keep increasing. Need to address the need for a cap or someway to stabilize

It is very good.

Need handyman. We can pay for small fix

Will use services in future -2

Lower taxes- 5

Page 18: HUMAN SERVICES COMMITTEE AGENDA May 3, 2017

Want home repair info

Thank you for Meals on Wheels

Comforting knowing OFA is available

Too much focus on Wellsville

More Social opportunities for younger healthy seniors

Legislators should support OFA services and don’t disrespect health of citizens

Legislators need to work closely with villages and towns

Legislators need to bring more business to the county

Less legislators, serve for 3 years- 2

No naturalpathic doctors in the county-

Needs transportation- 2

Open the historical Caneadea Bridge

Poor responses from fire and ambulance services

It seems there is very little attention given to services for the Rushford area. Have to travel to Cuba or

Fillmore.

High taxes make it impossible to retire comfortably in this county. Accord, the county court and others

seem determined to make Allegany County a clone of ultra-liberal New York City.

Taxes are too high and people over 70 should not have to pay school taxes, it only amounts to bleeding

the elderly.

Alcohol, tobacco, other drugs and gambling waste more money- are addictions and are the cause of more

deaths and health problems and there are all preventable but are constantly increasing our nation due to

greed, each of discipline and failure to face up to the real truth of all the above.

Lower taxes
