PURPOSE The competitive business environment makes it imperative for HR professionals to adopt a strategic and holistic approach to HR management, so that they play a pivotal role in enhancing organisational capability to connect employees with customers, deliver superior customer value, win in the market, and thereby enhance value creation for all stakeholders. To contribute meaningfully in today's business context, HR professionals must ensure that HR strategies and processes link in directly with the firm's vision and competitive strategy, and that they are executed and managed in a manner that adds maximum value to the firm. HR professionals also need to enhance their capability to lead change and effectively manage organisational transition as the firm adapts to volatile and dynamic market conditions. This Programme is an opportunity for HR professionals and managers in other functions to reflect on how they can play a strategic and leadership role in their organisations, and equip themselves with the requisite competencies and capability to script the firm's change agenda and thereby contribute more significantly to enhancing value creation and competitiveness on a sustained basis.

OBJECTIVES

This Progamme will provide participants an opportunity to:

- Enhance their understanding of important strategy frameworks and models, and the logic and process of translating the firm's vision and business strategy into people strategies, priorities, plans and processes in a manner that enables competitive, sustainable, inclusive and value based performance and growth.

- Reflect on how they can enhance organisation culture, vitality, alignment and capability in a way that the quality of strategy execution becomes a source of unique competitive advantage and adds maximum value to the firm.

- Enhance their understanding of contemporary approaches to building critical HR competencies and

processes that build a customer focused organisation, enhance synergy, drive organisational change and help differentiate itself in the market.

- Enhance their ability to appreciate emerging and changing trends and their implications for HR;

develop an outside-in perspective, and accordingly fashion HR policies and processes for optimum effectiveness, measured through tangible and meaningful analytics and metrics.

- Reflect on how they can work on enhancing their own leadership capability and their ability to provide

the human touch and connect, even as they engage with the effective management and facilitation of continuous organisational change triggered by volatile operating and market conditions.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND This Programme is designed for HR professionals and managers of other functions who have 8-12 years professional experience and who are driven with the passion to make a significant difference to their organisations. Participation will be limited to a maximum of 80. The Programme would also be of interest to participants from the Not-for-Profit and Social sectors and Academia for whom the participation fee will be reduced to 50%. We plan to have a maximum of 10 participants from these sectors. The partner organisations represent the spectrum of Indian Industry, and in acknowledgement of their support and encouragement, we plan to block 24 seats for participants from these organisations. The balance 46 seats will be available for managers from other organisations.

WHAT MAKES THIS PROGRAMME UNIQUE

- Each Module will cover conceptual and theoretical inputs, best practices in each area and relevant case studies.

- Prior to the Programme, each participant will articulate five relevant questions from his/her

perspective on each Module. These questions will be analysed by the Lead Facilitator of each Module, who will attempt to ensure that these questions are covered adequately in the respective modules.

- Individual participants will bring with them one important challenge from their own work situation

and will, in collaboration with other participants, find ways to address these challenges from the insights that will be gained during the Programme. Peer learning will be leveraged to develop alternate perspectives on themes identified from these challenges in evening Fireside Sessions, facilitated by participants themselves.

- Prior to the Programme, participants will spend a day on managerial shadowing of a business

manager, and these learnings will be deployed in the Module on New Paradigms in HR Leadership.

- Participants will be assigned senior HR professionals as mentors for a period of upto six months after the Programme, who would engage with the participants in reinforcing the learning and help them implement their individual action plan.

METHODOLOGY This 10-day Programme is designed to be intensive and will involve long hours of hard and focused work. It is therefore essential that only those HR professionals who are keen to add value to themselves and are passionate about making a difference to their profession and to their organisations, should attend. The Programme methodology will comprise classroom sessions and sharing of real-life experiences with leading HR professionals. There will be a significant amount of group work to give participants an opportunity to share with each other their own perspectives and experiences. A unique feature of this Programme would involve individual participants bringing with them one important challenge from their work situation and finding ways to address this challenge from the insights that will be gained during the Programme and from sharing with other participants. Should the nominating organisation desire, the participants will be assigned senior HR professionals as mentors for a period of six months after the Programme, who would engage with the participants in reinforcing the learning and helping them implement their individual action plan. Since the Programme would require significant investment of time and undivided attention, it is reiterated that it is intended only for those with a strong will and passion!
