We encourage curiosity and discovery. Students are challenged to discover their passions. Our stellar faculty serve as dedicated mentors who will help students find a platform through which they can express, experience and expand on what they love.

We commit to excellence. With state-of-the-art academic facilities, scholarly opportunities and a robust calendar of engaging events, our environment of excellence transforms students. We remain on the forefront of higher education, because we know that preparing students to excel in the ever-changing 21st century requires giving them access to not only today’s technology, but also tomorrow’s cutting-edge learning tools.

We believe in students. When students join our family, we commit ourselves to plant seeds of greatness in their hearts and minds to propel them forward with both an intellectual and practical foundation.

Your gifts support these promises that we make to our 4,600 students. You make it possible for High Point University to impact the lives of students in positive ways every single day and to prepare them to live lives of success and significance.

The High Point University Promise

We are a university where character and careers are crafted in unison. High Point University has a proud history of academic excellence and commitment to liberal arts education. Each student’s journey includes a series of defining academic experiences and mentorship by esteemed faculty in an environment that encourages creativity and personal choice.

We promote experiential learning. Students are continuously given the opportunity to combine classroom content with real-world context to prepare for a successful future. From our annual Business Plan Competition to our weekly Panthers Newscast, from learning the value of service through community engagement to becoming globally connected through study abroad, students are exposed to a range of “learning labs” that extend well beyond traditional classroom walls.

We embrace values-based living. We are committed to building character, modeling values and ensuring that students graduate not only with expertise in a discipline, but also with the skills necessary to be successful in life. We are a God, family and country institution.

We cultivate success and significance.Students receive an education that inspires greatness, instills purpose, cultivates life-long learning, promotes service and stimulates a desire to live a life of both success and significance.

We instill an entrepreneurial spirit. From the President’s Seminar on Life Skills for first-year students to the President’s Seminar for seniors, High Point University feeds the entrepreneurial spirit. HPU gives students the platform to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to become agile and nimble entrepreneurial leaders.

HPU physics students had their proposal accepted to NASA’s Micro-g Neutral Buoyancy Experiment Design Teams program. The spacewalking tools will be used by astronauts in the Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston to help plan for future space missions.

Students of HPU’s Model United Nations Club served as delegates to the Bilateral US-Arab Chamber of Commerce Model Arab League. During the conference, HPU students became diplomats representing Iraq and Morocco at simulated meetings of the League of Arab States.

HPU students traveled to Chile to observe stars with the Small & Moderate Aperture Research Telescope System and are now seeing the fruits of their research. Their work, which has helped with the discovery of a rare pulsar system, was recently published in a renowned astrophysics journal.

Sophomore Laura Santiago published an article in the American Journal of Sports Medicine. The article is the product of research she conducted at HPU on the most accurate way to diagnose lower body stress fractures.

The history of the former William Penn High School, the City of High Point’s African-American high school before desegregation, was retold. Conducting hundreds of hours of research, HPU students in a service learning history course called “The History Detectives” developed a website documenting findings from The William Penn Project.

HPU’s Survey Research Center receives national attention from major news channels as a leading research center in the South.
