For 6 inch and larger NEWAY Trunnion mounted ball valves will be

installed with a sealant injection fittings on both stem and seats.

When the sealing materials (seat sealing or stem o-ring) are

damaged or decomposed by fire or other accidental causes, leakage

from the seat and stem can be prevented by injection of sealant into

these fittings. Fitting also internally installed a second check valve to

provides backup sealing.

Emergency sealant injection system

pressure is simultaneously applied to both sides

of the ball in closed position, the valve bore and

the body cavity will be isolated from each other,

and line pressure (Pl), i.e. P*D1<Fs, then contact

between ball and seat ring is assure to provide a tight

seal.

When cavity pressure is higher than seat spring and line pressure,

i.e. P*D1>Fs, the self relieving action allows that valve seat will

move slightly away from the ball surface, therefore any over

pressure acting in the body cavity is discharged into the line to

restore the balance between the body cavity and line (either

upstream or downstream).

The stem is made separately from the ball; The lover end of the stem is

designed with an integral collar to be blowout-proof.

Antistatic device is a standard feature of NEWAY ball valve . A spring-

loaded pin assures the electrical continuity, between ball ,stem and

body, so as to avoid sparks during turning of the stem to open and close

the valve, which could be dangerous in case of hazardous area

installation.

Super Fire safe design

External leakage prevention

Leakage from the valve stem area is

prevented by double sealing with 2 O-rings

and gland gasket. Leakage through the valve

body joint is also blocked by double sealing

with O-ring and body gasket. After a fire has

deteriorated O-rings, gland gasket, body

gasket and stem firesafe packing are the

measure that prevents external fluid leakage.

When non-metal materials such as O-ring,

seat insert and spacer are decomposed or

deteriorated by fire, the edge of the metal

seat preloaded by the seat spring comes into

contact with the

Ball to shut off the line fluid to minimize internal leakage through the

valve bore. Also the fire safe flexible graphite seat packing will be

compressed by the seat spring to prevent fluid leakage between the

valve body and the seat.

Expanding gate design is versatile in that it provides a

mechanical seal between the seats and the gate ensuring

valve integrity at both high and low line pressure. The

expanding gate valve does not rely on line pressure to seal

and is recommended for appl ications when a t ight

mechanical seal is required.

Self cavity relief

Since slab gate design is double block valve, so when valve

is in closed position valve cavity pressure may increase due

to thermal expansion. If cavity pressure exceeds line

pressure, the up-steam seat is forced slightly away from the

gate surface and the excess pressure in the body is

discharged into the line to restore the pressure balance

between the body cavity and the line.

Emergency Sealant Injection System

For 6 and larger valve will be installed with a sealant injection

fitting on both stem and seats (for expending gate valve only on

stem). So when sealing materials (PTFE seat insert or stem o-

ring) are damaged or decomposed by fire or other accidental

causes, leakage from the seat and stem can be prevented by

injection of sealant into these fittings. Fitting also internally

Through conduit valves are widely used for oil and gas

pipeline service. This type of valve has such function that,

when fully opened, media passage capability superior to

valves in use for general secondary process line, it can

also be capable for pig ball Cleaning service.

Neway through conduit gate valves are available in

Slab Gate and Expanding Gate design and both are

fully comply with API 6D standard.

When valve is in closed position and there is an equal or no

pressure throughout the valve, 2 spring-loaded floating seats

can shut off the line fluid independently on the upstream and

downstream side, allowing double block operation.(Fig.1)

Double block & Bleed

When line pressure is applied to the valve, it will acts on the gate,

forcing it float against the downstream seat, and form a tight seal

on downstream seat. Also an upstream seal can be provided by

the force of line pressure acting against the upstream seat to the

gate.(Fig.2)

Seat sealing

The seat rings are designed with spring loaded floating type

and double O-rings, that can maintains a perfect sealing with

slab gate both in high or low differential pressure. PTFE

insert are utilized to assure the primary sealing and when

PTFE seats were destroyed, the metal to metal contact

between slab and seats can be function as secondary sealing.

Slab Gate Valve

Slab gate valve is simple in design but efficient in performance.

This design utilizes two spring loaded floating seats which are

pressure energized, moving the upstream seat in contact with

the gate that brings about a tight and complete seal with both

Expanding gate design is versatile in that it provides a

mechanical seal between the seats and the gate ensuring

valve integrity at both high and low line pressure. The

expanding gate valve does not rely on line pressure to seal

and is recommended for appl ications when a t ight

mechanical seal is required.

Self cavity relief

Since slab gate design is double block valve, so when valve

is in closed position valve cavity pressure may increase due

to thermal expansion. If cavity pressure exceeds line

pressure, the up-steam seat is forced slightly away from the

gate surface and the excess pressure in the body is

discharged into the line to restore the pressure balance

between the body cavity and the line.

Emergency Sealant Injection System

For 6 and larger valve will be installed with a sealant injection

fitting on both stem and seats (for expending gate valve only on

stem). So when sealing materials (PTFE seat insert or stem o-

ring) are damaged or decomposed by fire or other accidental

causes, leakage from the seat and stem can be prevented by

injection of sealant into these fittings. Fitting also internally

and moves well together along all four

surfaces in the course of travel.The distance

between the two faces of the gate is less

than that between seats,thus the gate and

s e g m e n t c a n t r a v e l f r e e l y w i t h o u t

experiencing sticking or wedging.(Fig.1)

The two top angles make contact in the

closed position.If the segment halted by a

s t o p m o v e s f u r t h e r d o w n w a r d , t h e

continuously descending gate pushes the

The two bottom angles make contact in the

open position.If the segment halted by a stop

moves further upward, the gate and segment

seats and cut the flow from the valve

Through conduit valves are widely used for oil and gas

pipeline service. This type of valve has such function that,

when fully opened, media passage capability superior to

valves in use for general secondary process line, it can

also be capable for pig ball Cleaning service.

Neway through conduit gate valves are available in

Slab Gate and Expanding Gate design and both are

fully comply with API 6D standard.

NEWAY series BS ball valves are trunnion mounted

supported and available in size 2 to 48 , ANSI class 0rating 150 to 1500 and temperature ratings of - 46 C to

0200 C . All meets the fire safe requirement of BS 6755

and API 6FA.

Fully forged steel body and closure eliminates the

inevitable defects of casting and assures the tough

structure of the valve at full rated working pressure. It

also has advantage of quick delivery time, thus more

popular in modern oil and gas industry.

All BS series ball valves are featured with trunnion

mounted ball and independent floating spring loaded

seats which provides bubble-tight shut off and low

operating torques even at low different pressure. Double

sealing O-rings or a combination of an O-ring and gasket

in stem making this series of ball valve suitable for both

above ground or under-ground service.

This is a typical NEWAY series BS trunnion mounted ball valve illustrated cross-section drawing which is only for demonstrating of basic design features. The actual product design may be slightly different from this sample drawing due to its size and pressure class.

Neway series BW ball valves are a fully welded body

and trunnion mounted ball valve, available in from size

2 to 60 ANSI class from 150 to 2500, temperature

range from -46 to 200 . Fire safe conforming to BS

6755 and API 6Fa.

Compared to flanged split body trunnion mounted ball

valves, ful ly welded body valves el iminate the

possibility of leakage through the body connection. The

fully welded body design is compact, cost-efficient and

provides maximum strength and maximum resistance

to pipeline pressures and stresses. In order to avoid

internal damage caused by heat transfer during

installation/welding, the valves are designed with

extended weld ends.

The fully welded body ball valve is preferred in

applications such as long-distance transport pipelines

and under-ground services.
