I. WHO AM I?

Who are you in the deepest sense of the word. When you strip away the layers of learning, socialization, and what parents, family and friends think, what remains? This is your true self.

Passions

Think back to when you were a child. What could you spend hours doing and never get tired of? What do you love to do, see, hear, read or be now? Most passions are inborn and give us clues to ways we can begin to be happier, healther and even more successful.

II. BELIEFS & VALUES

When things are hard, what principles will you not compromise? What values do you hold dear? Think about what you respect in others, and what turns you off. These values comprise your “moral compass” that help make difficult ethical decisions clearer. There are no right or wrong answers. The right answers are the ones you truly believe in.

These are my beliefs and values:

III. PURPOSE

Consider the above answers and think of what is your unique reason for being on this earth. There are no right or wrong answers and this isn’t about religion. Your purpose may seem selfish - that’s okay. As long as it makes you feel fulfilled. It is essential that you be honest with yourself about what moves you.

My purpose in life is:

If you’re struggling with defining your purpose, do this exercise instead: Pretend you’re writing your obituary, what would you want it to say?

Alignment check:

Are you starting to see any areas where you’re “out of alignment?” In other words, where your passions, talents, beliefs or purpose are not fitting or aligning with your everyday life? If so, where and how?

IV. MY FUTURE: WHAT DO I WANT MY LIFE TO BE LIKE?

It’s the future. Visualize what your life looks like. Remember your passions, your talents, your purpose and your values. Are you living your life in accordance with them? How? What does that life look like? Who is around you? How do you feel? What have you accomplished? Be as specific or as general as you want.
