MEET THE GAMEAge Of Empires 2 was released in 1999, and it’s still

one of the best strategy game has ever been made. In fact, me and my friends are still playing this game every weekend. Basically; the game is all about choosing the right civilization, raising its elements up ( economy, military,society,technology) and winning the war against your rivals.

Purpose of this toolkit is to show you how to win a war against your rival in Age Of Empires 2. I hope you enjoy it. Let the game begin.

The opening screen of the game.

You can choose which kind of game you will play.

On this screen you arrange your game settings.

You can choose one of these civilizations, i chose Mongols.

At the bottom right you see the map and the teams, each indicated with different colours.

You start the game with 3 villagers a scout, a town center.

As soon as you start the game, it’s very importand that you start creating villagers.

You should send one of your villagers to collect wood firstly.

And one of them to build walls where needed so the enemy can not attack your country

It is also important that you command one of your villagers to build houses as you start with 5 population limit you won’t be able to produce

more than 1 unit.

You will also need gold to produce some units and sending a villager to collect gold would be wise at

the start of the game.

One of the vital things you shoul do as soon as possible is to build farms or hunt animals so that

the villagers can gather food.

In case the enemy sends you raiders, you should build a stable or a military building to produce units as soon as possible or else you may

seal your doom.

As the monks are healers as well in this game, you may want to build a monastery and create a monk.

As i said earlier, the enemy will send you raiders and if you have 2 enemies which are allies between themselves and you are their mutual enemy and alone you will need to put way more effort in defending your

country.

This was the situation of the enemy at the early times of the game.

And this was the other enemy.

This was my country and you can clearly see the difference.

If you build a castle close to your town center it will both defend your town center and you will be able to produce

special military units.

This button is extremely useful as it tells you if there’s a villager who is not working.

Creating Paladins would be a wise thing to do as they are strong and have good attacking power.

The Elite Eagle Warriors are the most effective units against Bombard Cannons as they are very fast. The Bombard Cannons are great threat to your buildings.

With building Bombard Towers and Keeps, which fire arrows, you can defend your country easier.

You should draw your enemies among your towers and fight there, hence they will get more damage.

Siege Onagers can destroy forests, you can do this and make one of your villagers flee through forest. If you lose

all of your villagers, it means you are defeated.

Once you leave your country and flee it is little possibility that you will survive but you have to take

your chances.

In this game although i have spent a lot of effort to flee and travelled half of the map through forest i could not manage

to survive.

Building a Wonder is a way to defeat enemy as well but you should still do the things i have told to survive. In this game i have decided to

build a wonder after ensuring my country’s safety.

If you are planning to build a wonder you should choose a place remote and hard to reach, i could have chosen the

bottom corner as well but the mines in this corner took my attention.

As you see there are stone and gold mines in this part of the map, while in other parts they have already run out.

Here i built walls in front of forest in case the enemy would collect the last trees and face me directly. This would be a big mistake and the enemy forces would easily end you.

Clearing this very corner i have enabled myself a suitable place to construct the Wonder.

You should command as many villagers as possible to build the Wonder. With 1 or 2 villagers you possibly would

not be able to finish building even in 1 hour.

Constructing towers is great way to defend the Wonder, if your Wonder stands 400 years you win the game.

Building a wonder isn’t a big deal but to defend it you have to put a lot of effort, choosing the right place first of all is

the most important step of protecting it.

Once you ensured all the safety steps you should wait for the enemy to come and if they can not reach your Wonder in 400 years, which is

what you should want to happen, you will be victorious.
