Below you will find the detailled steps within the photo scanningprocess:• Clean the scan bed and photo with a nice cloth• Place the images on the bed lens leaving a gap of 1 cm from the

borders• If you want to scan more photos at the same time, leave a gap of ½

cm between the images• Close the scanner and open the Epson software• Explanations about the detailed settings for scanning a photo will

Follow the below listed steps to achieve the optimal settings forscanning a photo:

Select the option „Reflective“ Select the option „photo“ If color photo, choose „24 bit color“ If black-white, choose „16 bit Grayscale“ For color photos, select „unscharp mask“ & „Digital ICE“ For black-white photo, select „unscharp mask“ &

„dustremoval“ Finally click on „Scan“

• Let your photos or negatives get scanned– Don‘t make any pre-selection as you don‘t know which photos are of high

importance for your children or grandchildren

• Don‘t only scan your photos but also repair them– If you just scan your old pictures at home they won‘t be perfect as you

can always see the impact of time on older pictures.

• Don‘t store your photos in the basement or attic floor.– The heat in the basement and the high dampness in the attic floor

damage your photos.

• Always use acid- and ligning-free storage material.– Some storagematerial like photo album could damage your photos on

the long-term. Avoid to use harmful plastic.
