How to Personalize your MLTI Apple ID Your Apple ID is the key to many services with your iPad. Please take care in creating and remembering the name and password you select, and other information. Requirements Please use the provided iPad with the temporary Apple ID to personalize the Apple ID. If you are receiving a MacBook Air and have not set it up, please personalize your Apple ID first with the iPad. If you are under thirteen please make sure a parent or guardian is present to complete the personalization. Your parent or guardian will need an email address. Preparation • Select a unique username. The name selected must be unique amongst all of MLTI. This will be part of your login name for your Apple ID. The second half will be @mlti.net. • Examples: • [email protected] - Not unique • [email protected] - Not unique • [email protected] - Unique • [email protected] - Unique • [email protected] - Unique • Notes: • Students under thirteen can not change their username after completing the form until they are thirteen. • Create a secure password. The password must be at least eight characters long. It must also contain one capital letter and one number. If you have an existing password for other services that meet these requirements you can use it here too. • Examples: • blackbears - No capital letter, no number • BlackBears - No number • BlackBears10 - Secure • BlackBears10! - Even more secure because it contains a symbol • Select a rescue email. This can be a school or personal email address. This email address will be used in case you for get your password. You need to verify this email address as soon as possible. • Students under thirteen will be required to put in a parent’s email address. The parent’s email can be used to help reset a password. Additional Information • Remember what you enter for your birthdate and security questions. These are both used in the event that you forget your password. • If you do forget your password you can visit iforgot.apple.com to reset the password online. Personalization Steps1. Visit mlti.net on the iPad provided and tap your age group.
2. Login with the temporary Apple ID located on the provided iPad.
3. Personalize your Apple ID by filling out the form.
4. Verify the rescue email (or parent / guardian if under thirteen) address as soon as possible. Your login will be the [email protected] (ex: [email protected])
5. Open the Settings app and tap iCloud on the left. Sign in with your new Apple ID. Tap “OK” to enable Find My iPad.• Notes:
• Find My iPad can only be used by the owner of the Apple ID.
6. While still in the Settings app, enable iCloud backup by clicking on “Storage & Backup” and turning “iCloud Backup” to ON.
7. While still in the Settings app, tap “iTunes & App Stores” and enter your Apple ID and password, tap “Sign In.”
