How to identify Storage Shelf type from NetApp AutoSupport? In most cases if you have installed the Filer, then you know for sure which storage shelf type is installed on the array. But, autosupport can be quite handy in displaying the details about the shelf type for a NetApp storage system. On the MyAutoSupport page | click ‘Raw AutoSupport Data’ | Click ‘Environment’ as shown in figure below or if you have a copy of autosupport mailed to you, look for a section called ‘Environment’: Following information can be easily traced if you slowly scroll through the environment page: Shelf: 1 vendor identification=NETAPP product identification=DS4243 product revision level=0152 Shelf bays with disk devices installed: 23, 22, 21, 20, 19, 18, 17, 16, 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0 Small tip: Just do ‘CTRL’ and ‘F’ and use the keyword ‘product identification’.
