How to Drop Out Numerous iPhone Apps Concurrently in iOS with Multi-touch?
There are several functions in iPhones that many users do not know to have ever
existed. One of such functions is the removal of multiple applications simultaneously.
iPhones support multi-touch which is known to all but few know that running
applications can be removed in groups with multi-touch feature of Apple devices. iOS
apps developers who have not delivered efficient applications may face the brunt of
the function. Anyway, the multi-touch gesture allows removal of running applications
by swiping a many fingers together on the screen as users can fit. However, the method
of removal is different for iOS version 7.0 or greater and iOS version 6.0.
iPhone app developers have appropriately adjusted to the functions of
different versions of iOS. Their applications are compatible with the functions of
the OS. On iOS 7.0 and greater versions, multiple applications can be removed by
swiping fingers upwards onto the applications.
Double tap onto the round home button at the bottom of the screen to pull up the
multi-tasking screen.
Place your fingers on the applications that appear on the screen and swipe
upwards to remove the applications out of the screen. That is how simple
removing multiple applications is. Users have to be smart to maximise the multi-
touch capability of iOS. When the multitasking screen appears, users have to
make sure that 3 running applications are visible on the screen so that maximum
numbers of them can be dropped out simultaneously. The iPhone multi-touch
supports as many fingers as users can use simultaneously use on the screen.
However, iPhone screen is just enough wide to accommodate only 3 fingers side
by side in case of most users. Besides, at the most, only 3 applications are visible
on the preview pane. In other words, as many as 3 running applications can be
dropped out of the device simultaneously.
However, on iOS 6.0 the system is not purely multi-tasking.
Summon the task tray by double-tapping the home button.
Use multi-touch to tap onto the red quit buttons simultaneously. As many as 4
applications can be quit simultaneously while the number is 8 in case of iPads.
Another method in iOS 6 is using 4 fingers tap after flipping through the task
tray. Keep one hand at the same place while using the other for navigation.
However, reboot is required to force-quit all applications. In case of reboot, the
applications that have been recently used remain in cache for quick accessibility.
iPhone apps development is on the rise and the number of applications continue to
increase. Interestingly, users download applications generously too. iOS users have
been found to download applications more than anyone. Thus, the possibility of using
more applications is higher. Thankfully the features and functions of iPhones, iPads and
iPods allow people to do their work conveniently despite the number of applications
they use. Indeed, the restriction on using multiple applications simultaneously on iOS
seems offensive in comparison to competitor OS but features like multi-touch promise
to facilitate mobile application development too.
