You will be only eligible for housing benefit if:

You are staying for more than 3 months in your accommodation in France.

You are an European Member.

You are a non-European Member and if have an OFII stamp or a French residence permit that is

currently valid.

If your visa states « Dispensé temporaire de carte de séjour » and/or you don’t have the OFII stamp you will not

be entitled to this benefit.

In order to apply, you must follow some simple steps:

1. Download the application file at www.caf.fr.

2. Once you have downloaded the forms, you will need to complete them with the requested information. 3. Remember that there is one form for your landlord/landlady/residence to fill in and sign. 4. Make a copy of your file and keep it with you in case you need it later on. 5. Once this has been done, you can send copies of the requested documentation:

In case you declare your husband/wife/partner because you are sharing the accommodation in France you will need to join a copy of his/her passport.

How does it work?

In general students do not receive the housing allowance for the first month of their rent (eg. Students arriving in

August and who apply for the residence permit in August can start to receive the housing allowance from

September. Students who arrive in August and only apply for their residence permit in September will start to

receive the housing allowance in October (not back-dated to date of arrival).

• The housing allowance is paid at the beginning of the following month

• It is important to open a bank account in Grenoble so that the CAF can pay the allowance.

How much will you receive?

This amount is approximate and is based on many different criteria. Do not count on the maximum amount and do not

calculate your choice of accommodation on this basis. This is only given as an indication and Grenoble Ecole de

Management cannot be held responsible for the amount reimbursed by the CAF, and if they pay the housing allowance

at all.
