Example on how magazines fit the needs of their target audience: In this magazine cover you can tell that the genre is

some type of rock. This immediately associates the

magazine with people who listen to this type of music.

The background colour is black which I believe is to

add a type of darkness to the magazine which fits in

with the genre. The magazine then has the rest of the

magazine in bright colours to stand out from the

background, although, they still relate to the genre as

they aren’t exactlycheerful colours. The magazine

then has only one band on the cover, this is because

they are obviously a very popular band who many of

the target audience will be interested in, the magazine

will sell just as well with just this band on the cover as

it would have with other bands there also. They have

also attracted the music phonetics with the footer,

which tells them they will get free music downloads

with the magazine. This will again attract the target audience. This magazine is a great

example of how important attracting the target audience is and how much effort is put into

doing so.

Maybe a competition to win a shopping

weekend away or a chance to meet one of

the singers I include or even chances to go
