Main function:The committee is made up of Nursery, Pre-School and Primary staff and we ensure that the curriculum is a
continuous journey throughout the stages of development, that it allows each child to reach their
potential and that as a school, we stay true to Montessori.
Achievements 2016
• We have 3 primary classes of 60 kids in total with a teacher to child ratio of 1:9
• We have a rich and engaging curriculum that is regularly assessed.
• We are witnessing amazing results with the implementation of cursive handwriting and Muriel Dwyer.
2017 plan – key activities
• Comprehensive evaluation by Independent Quality Assurance Association (IQAA).• 10 weeks programme including audit and recommendations covering a wide
range of aspects (our curriculum and materials, admin procedures, governance, etc)
• Attending SAMA conference in Joburg.• Having more and imported Montessori materials (requires
funding).• Make meaningful and lasting relationships with high schools
(Academy, Ambleside and Summit House). • Knowing exactly what we want to see in the ‘Graduating Child’ and
ensuring that we are supporting each child in reaching that goal.

• Standard Operating Procedures were written up and workshopped for all committees and areas of the school.
• A full Senior Management Team was appointed.

• Q1: The school is becoming a member of ISASA and undergoing an evaluation by the IQAA to ensure the integrity and quality of the school.
• Q2: To build on our committees’ effectiveness and longevity.
• Q3: To safeguard our staff positions and plan for new staff – especially in our primary school.

• Putting a maintenance plan for the new building in place.
• Getting underground pool outlet pipes repaired.
• Installing a grey water tank with a view to supplying the school’s water requirements.
