Who We Are

Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP)was founded in 1970 by 50 captains of industry who shared a common vision of reducing poverty through various social development programs.

Today, the PBSP has evolved into the largest corporate-led social development foundation in the Philippines.

PBSP the first of its kind in Asia advancing initiatives and best practices of corporate social responsibility (CSR).

First in AsiaMore than 230 large, medium-scale and small business companies drive the PBSP. United in a common cause, our corporate members uplift the lives of Filipinos through social development projects and green agendas. Philippines Inc. Supports PBSP

PBSP is a business-led social development foundation. It is a collective effort of corporations committed to a common goal of helping the Filipinos help themselves. We are both business and social development and this duality allows us to understand the concerns of both sectors and help match ones competencies and resources to anothers needs. This uniqueness has been a source of strength that sustains our work and an inspiration to aspire for leadership in the sector.Andres Soriano IIIOur Legacy, PBSP. 2000.The thing about PBSP, is its trying to employ the discipline of business into corporate social responsibility. Thats the distinctive characteristic of PBSP. Were not just another foundation thats trying to do social work. Manuel V Pangilinan The Manila Times, 10 Jan 2011
