INTRODUCTION
Nowadays, the electrical energy distribution is considered as critical infrastructure in
industrially developed societies and its protection regarding safety and security
threats are being more and more used.
The fact that this infrastructure is geographically spread across huge areas brings
difficult technological challenges for the real-time prevention, detection and precise
localization of anomalies.
The protection and localization of faults in the electrical energy distribution is a key
task for any operator of such an infrastructure.
Securing the main infrastructure components through the deployment of secure non
contacting sensors and PLC/DCS networks providing remote monitoring and alarm
capabilities specifically in the detection of the hotspot and fault location is an
attractive option for achieving this goal.
This work considers the planned architecture and high-level implementation
solutions for the non contacting sensor network system, including a description of
the protected equipment and the hardware and software architecture to be used todetect anomalies.

CONT.
Thermography provides the means by which on-going preventivemaintenance can be carried out. It enables engineers to inspect vitalHVAC equipment, cooling systems, electrical switchgear, powerdistribution units (PDU) and other electrical devices quickly andeasily. Thermal imaging, or infrared thermography, visualizes andmeasures infrared radiation emitted from objects. This technologycan therefore be applied in any application where the performance orcondition of a component can be revealed by means of thermaldifference.
In the Low Voltage Electrical Switchboard Industry the main causeof switchboard fire is an undetected "Hot Spot". Thermographic
cameras can detect hotspots which are invisible to the naked eyewell before they progress into an electrical equipment failure, electrical fire or potentially a switchboard explosion. Early detection ofhotspots is key & may save company time and money by assisting ineliminating unexpected equipment outages and minimising businessdisruptions.

THE ADVANTAGES OF NON-CONTACT
TEMPERATURE MEASUREMENT ARE:
- Temperature measurements of moving oroverheated objects and of objects in hazardoussurroundings.
- Very fast response and exposure times. - Measurement without interaction, no influence
on the measuring object.
- Non-destructive measurement. - Long lasting measurement, no mechanical
wear.
-Thermal imaging finds hot spots in electricalreventive maintenance ro rams.

LITERATURE REVIEW
Zhanghong Tang,.et.al(2011), College of Material Science and Engineering,Beijing University of Technology, have undertaken a research on HotspotDetection by Improved Adaptive Finite Element Method and its Application
in High Speed PCBs and IC Packages Design ,IEEE, and the results showthat the adaptive FEM only uses about 60 times memory and CPU time todetect all hotspots in the package comparing to the initial FEM solution.
C. Fortunato,et al,.(2012), EDPEnergias de Portugal, Lisboa, haveunder taken a research on Fault Location in an Electrical Energy
Distribution Infrastructure with a Wireless Sensor Network using detailedanalysis of the applicability of wireless systems in the localization of faults inthe energy distribution network, and the wireless sensors allow remotedetection of medium and low voltage (MV/LV) power transformer hotspots inorder to identify emerging malfunction as well as detection of intrusion in theMV/LV power transformers.
Grilo.A,.et al,. (2010), Wireless Sensor Networks for theProtection of anElectrical Energy Distribution Infrastructure, Springer, From a safety andsecurity point of view, the electrical energy distribution infrastructure needsto be protected.. In this paper solutions to increase the safety aspects ofsubstation components, power lines and power transformers. The sensornetwork interacts with the SCADA system of the electricity provider to allowfor centralised control of the protection system.

OBJECTIVES OF PROPOSED WORK:
Using PLC and analytical detection of arc flash in a distribution board
and using communicable sensors. To detect hotspot and fault levelprediction in a distribution board. These are controlled and monitoredin a remote control room using plc.
To improve the system operation and efficiency.
To reduce the manpower to detect the fault again and again.
From the above literature, review is trying to overcome the hotspotwithout using pyrometer or any other portable instrument. To detectthe hotspot and fault level all these monitor and control in a controlroom only.
This will improve the quality of service, increase the electrical system
reliability and maximize the operational efficiency.
