It is a great pleasure for us to welcome you to our beautiful walled city, Cartagena de Indias. Also known as “The Heroic”,

adds to the charms of its colonial, republican and modern architecture, the attractions of an intense nightlife, cultural

festivals and lush landscapes, as well as the magnificent beaches that invite you to enjoy and rest its refreshing breeze from the

Caribbean Sea. Our city has the magic of colonial architecture in addition to the excellent gastronomy. Its walls and balconies

keeps the secrets of history. Framed by a beautiful bay, Cartagena de Indias is a treasure highly visited, one of the most

beautiful and preserved cities in south America. thThe aim of the SETAC Latin America 13 Biennial Meeting is

to continue with the series of SETAC Latin America meetings and to promote the interaction among Latin American

professionals engaged in environmental science with colleagues from other parts of the world. We wish to stimulate education

and participation of students and to facilitate scientific exchanges among the academic, business and government
