Hot of the Press Recently I have expressed my disappointment at the lack of understanding and blatant misinformation about the important role Royalties for Regions has played throughout the Agricultural Region. My recent letter to the editor in a number of regional papers and farming industry journals clearly expressed the considerable investment that Royalties for Regions has made throughout the Agricultural sector. Our $300 million Seizing the Opportunity - Vision for Agriculturepolicy has been adopted in full with our partners in Government and is being delivered through Royalties for Regions. Some of the highlights of the policy include; -$20million for Grains Research with AEGIC and GrainsWest, -$40million into the Water for Food Initiative, -$10million to Help Farmers Better Manage Risk, -$20million into Biosecurity and -$10million into a Sheep Industry Development Centre in Katanning, to name only a few, and there is still substantial funding to be delivered over the next 2 years. We have been able to substantially increase investment into agriculture across the length and breadth of WA from horticulture precincts in the SW region, water diversification projects in the Kimberley and the Midlands Groundwater and Land Assessment Initiative, along with $17.1million into wild dog control with the State Barrier Fence nearing completion. Also recently announce was Royalties for Regions funding of $23million to deliver three new Doppler radar stations across the wheatbelt in Wubin, Merredin and Lake Grace to significantly increase the weather information that our agricultural industry needs to reduce risk and increase viability. The Nationals WA need your support to continue to fight the profoundly misplaced view that the Nationals WA has neglected regional WA. With over $7billion invested since 2008 it is now more important than ever that you use your vote to keep The Nationals WA in a position to continue to deliver for regional West Australians.
