Imogene Louise Jackson was born in Dallas, Texas November 1, 1925 to the union of the late Judge Demmons and Ella Poindexter. Imogene was educated in the Dallas, Texas school system and graduated from Washing-ton/Lincoln High School in 1942. Always full of life, Imogene was always aspiring to achieve the better things in life. At a very young age her mom moved she and her younger siblings to California where she met and married the love of her life Josh Jackson. They raised a son, Eural. They both worked and lived in the City of San Francisco for many years. In the ‘70’s they joined the New Providence Baptist Church under the pastorate of the late Rev. C. E. Scott. They both had a passion for learning God’s word. This passion for learning lead them to the Fellowship Bible Institute where they studied for many years. They both taught Sunday School classes and both served in the capacity of Sunday School Superintendent. They also both served as Deacon and Deaconess respectfully. Her favorite scripture was 2 Peter 3:18. Imogene also taught bible study as it was one of her favorite things to do. She could also be found imparting wisdom to family and to anyone who was in her presence. Later in life, they moved to Vallejo, CA where they united with the Friendship Baptist Church under the pastorate of Joseph Flowers. She continued to teach in Sunday School and remained faithful to her church until her health failed. Affectionately known to her family and friends as Aunt Jeanie, Mom, Grammy and Sister Jackson, she will forever remain in our hearts and memories. We love you! She leaves a son Eural Cleveland of Harrisburg, PA (Marilyn), a daughter Katrena Barron of Hayward, CA, a sister Jessie Tealer of San Francisco, CA, a brother Art Liggins of San Diego, CA, a brother-in-law Leon Jones of Sacramento, CA, four grandsons, Damon Smith (Nicole) of Antioch, Joshua Morgan of Castro Valley, CA, Eural Cleveland, Jr., Doug Cleveland of Harrisburg, PA, nine granddaughters, Autumn Wright (Andre) of Castro Valley, CA, Regina, Rebecca, Joi Louise, Hadiyah, Aseelah, Rabiyah, Latifah and Safiyah of Harrisburg, PA, four nephews Kenneth Little, Terry Jones, David Jones, and James Everett, three nieces Jackie Jones, Lisa Jones, and Leslie Kinney, twenty-three great grand children, 10 great great grandchildren and a host of great nieces and nephews. WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS What a friend we have in Jesus All our sins and griefs to bear
And what a privilege to carry Everything to God in prayer Oh, what peace we often forfeit Oh, what needless pain we bear
All because we do not carry Everything to God in prayer Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged Take it to the Lord in prayer Can we find a friend so faithful Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness Take it to the Lord in prayer.
