R U Okay? Day Thursday is R U Ok day, an important day to reinforce how important it is to look out for those with whom we work and live, those within our spheres of influence, students, parents, neighbours, friends, colleagues and engage to ensure the well-being of those with whom we interact. At Homebush West we encourage sustainable well-being practices and access to support resources, regularly touch base with all of the members in our community who present with concerns or who appear vulnerable. We applaud those who already access mental health and well-being resources, and encourage those who have not yet reached out, to consider connecting with the variety of resources accessible. For your reference the R U Ok? website provides resources for schools, parents/carers, for those in the workplace, for those initiating support conversations. https://www.ruok.org.au/ WoodiWild Tree Planting Fundraiser

We are excited that our P&C are partnering with Gary from WoodiWild who runs an excellent

initiative with the purpose of re-planting trees on farms across Australia to provide habitat for our

threatened wildlife and address climate change. Our school community now has the opportunity to

purchase a tree to go in the Great Aussie Schools Forest. Trees are only $10 each and you can name

your tree yourself and watch it grow. We encourage you to get involved. Head to the WoodiWild

website, find the 'school' tab and search for Homebush West Public School. Or follow this link -

Strathfield Girls High School HSC Art Exhibition Visit On Wednesday 4th September, four HWPS students attended the Strathfield Girls High School 'HSC Body of Work' Art Exhibition, with Miss Pene and Miss Loos. We were blown away by the outstanding levels of talent, sophistication and passion demonstrated in each artwork, and left feeling very inspired. It was a wonderful experience!

I liked how the students used different techniques and materials. Every artwork had something unique about it. My favourite artwork used a lot of colours and patterns to make it what it was and every artwork had a story behind it. There was one artwork that was inspired by a student's sister who has 'Atypical Rett Syndrome', a rare neurological development and can't speak, so she communicated with her hands so that they can understand each other. Ahmet 65J

The exhibition was amazing and very inspiring to me. My favourite one must have been this Chinese Cultural Artwork because I liked how the artist made it look hard to do, until you looked closer, you could see that it was drawn very simply. Elizabeth 65P

I liked this artwork because the blanket looked so real and I felt like I could take it out of the artwork. I was so curious about the technique she did. It looked like it was printed. Jibril 65W

Success for all

I really liked how every artwork was unique and very interesting. One artwork made me feel very inspired because of the story behind it, the level of detail and how much effort was put into it. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience and seeing all of the different concepts of art. Every artwork grabbed my attention in a very good way. Amelia
