  • How to create a volcanic erup on in a bo le

Today 21R conducted an experiment to create a volcanic erup on in a bo le. We determined that the best erup on happens when 3 teaspoons of bi‐carb soda is mixed with 200mls of vinegar. The erup on happened because vinegar is an acid and it reacted with the bi card soda which is a base. Maybe you would like to give it a try in the holidays? Follow the instruc ons below.

    Materials

    · Plas c Bo le

    · Vinegar

    · Food colouring

    · Teaspoon

    · Bi‐carb soda

    · Funnel

    · Measuring jug

    Steps

    1. Put 3 teaspoons of bi‐carb soda into the bo le.

    2. Put 3 drops of food colouring of your choice into the bo le.

    3. Take the bo le to a place that can get messy.

    4. Pour 200mls of vinegar into the bo le.

    5. Watch the erup on.
