You can move the Padlet layout to stream. This view is much better than typing all overeach other, in my opinion. (hat tip Richard
Byrne – I didn’t know this.)

You can share the link with others inmany ways. You can also copy the link
at the top and paste into a linkshortener like bitly.
If you click the share button, you canshare via email, Tweet, and it evencreates a QR code. But the best way isto copy the long address and thenpaste the link into bit.ly and customizethe link. (See my blog post on linkshortening.)
SANDBOX: The BIG Tip forthe First Time You Use AnySoftware
As Richard shared, he has a commonexperience with tools that I do. The firsttime you share it, have a sandboxPadlet. Sandboxing software meansthat you play with the software beforeyou get down to “business.”
Kids get a bit excited and sometimessilly. When they are done and get it outof their system, delete the Padlet andgo onto the real activity. Glad to seeanother teacher seeks kids get excited. Both Richard and I recommend this asbest practice in the workshops we give.

How can I use Padlet in theClassroom?
For younger classes, use it as aportfolio to share with parents.Snap pictures of student work andshare them.
Richard Byrne says you can use italmost as a blog.
Have a class Padlet and put thelinks to everything else in it. Setthe student web browsers to startwith that page. If you set it to flow, the work is already at the top.Students will know quickly whatthey are doing that day.
Have kids sort pictures on Padletto classify them (and use theInteractive White Board (IWB)).
Use it as a class backchannel andhave discussions on it.
Have students work a problem, and snap a picture of how theyworked it.

I really like Padlet. It is a uniquetool to bring into a mathematicsclassroom (even though it mightseem strange at first!). Padletoffers a great opportunity topromote, invite and encouragevaried solution strategies. Thisis a place where students canpost their own definitions andexplanations of mathematicalconcepts and terminology.Simultaneously, they can look atevery other student responses, broadening their exposure tounique thought processes. It is ahelpful tool in giving studentsownership of theirmathematical thoughts.
