STEWARDSHIP THOUGHT

Good stewards in a parish are like the yeast in today’s Gospel. Their selfless gifts of time, talent and treasure help the parish grow and thrive, and their example inspires others to become good stewards, too.

PASTORAL ASSISTANT FOR FAITH FORMATION (40 HOURS)

Holy Trinity Parish seeks an energetic, organized, collaborative person to serve as Pastoral Assistant for Faith Formation and Sacramental Preparation for pre-school through junior high students and the RCIA process. The successful candidate will be an active, practicing Catholic in good standing in the Church; undergraduate or graduate degree in theology or related field; recent successful experience in catechesis; demonstrated ability to recruit, train and supervise volunteers; excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work nights and weekends. From today’s Gospel reading: "If you pull up the weeds you might uproot the wheat along with them. Let them grow together until the harvest...." Reflection: We do well to listen to the advise of the owner, who introduces a note of caution and a plea for patience. In effect, he is advising, "You do not really know enough to judge right now. All the evidence isn’t in yet." So we ask ourselves: - Have I ever acted on the surety that I was right...only to be proven wrong later? - Did that lesson make me a more patient and kinder person? How?
