RCIA: Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults: What is it ??

RCIA is the Church’s method of initiating adults into the Catholic Tradi-

tion by preparing them to receive any/all of the sacraments of initiation, in-

cluding Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation. RCIA meets on Sundays,

10:30am-12:15pm, September-May. Sessions consist of small/large group

discussions, lecture style presentations, and opportunities for community building. Each par-

ticipant is accompanied by a sponsor throughout the RCIA process. The participants will al-

so take part in special liturgies, service projects, and social gatherings. Most participants will

receive the sacraments at the Easter Vigil liturgy. If you are interested in the RCIA process,

please contact:

Linda Smith at 404-647-7773 or [email protected].

Jesus Needs You, We need you!

Recruiting volunteers is a never-ending adventure in most ministries and I think that is exactly how it designed to work best. When we cease looking for new volunteers, it may indicate that we have settled for “what already is” and not “what it still can be.” Ministries are open to all age groups. Everyone is busy with work, families and other commitments, however, as disciples we all should be looking for ways to participate in church life. If Jesus was wise enough to choose a team of people who had different life experiences, to be on His team of disciples every ministry can use people from different life experiences. We need:

Lectors – to read God’s word at every Mass Eucharistic Ministers – to assist the priest in distributing communion Ushers -take up collection, and be available in case of a ER. Welcome Folks – to greet people Musicians – Altar Server – Catechists - Rosary makers

Please see bulletin or call HC office for contact information. Love, Jesus and the Franciscan Friars

Dear Parishioners at Holy Cross Catholic Church,

On behalf of the service members at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, and the American Red Cross, we would like to express our

gratitude for the gifts you have sent over the past year. As always, please express our thanks to the volunteers and donors who

helped make this happen. Your support lends strength and fortitude to the troopers while they are far away from home.

Your support makes it possible for our office to provide the military community here of Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti with morale

building services such as a canteen stocked with snacks and toiletries, a library stocked with books, magazines, puzzles and DVDs

and correspondence capabilities in the form of stationary, cards, envelopes, phone cards and email for the service members to keep

in contact with family. We are also proud to be able to send support to units who are located elsewhere and are incredibly grateful

for the toiletries and non-perishable snacks which they do not have ready access to.

Your support reminds many service members that they are not forgotten and that their sacrifices are recognized and appreciated.

Please accept our gratitude on behalf of service members here at CLDJ, and those deployed throughout our area of responsibility.

Sincerely, Ronald, American Red Cross Volunteer

future and RED means NO PARKING, EVER! Your assistance in keeping our property

beautiful is essential. Thank you.
