Welcome to this special service in which our children and young people are
taking part. The service is followed by tea/coffee and then by a Faith Lunch towhich all are invited.
Harvest Gifts will be given to Caring for Life, a Christian Charity based in NorthLeeds. Caring For Life is a registered Christian charity (registration no. 519138)with the aim of sharing the love of Jesus with homeless or vulnerable people by
providing accommodation, ongoing support, love and friendship, and whennecessary, providing that care 'for life'! Such care enables people to developdignity and self-respect. Our motto is simple, "Sharing the Love of Jesus."
We believe that all men and women are made in the image of God, and thatleads us to treat people with dignity and respect. Most of those we supporthave been afforded little respect in the past. Our principles of care spring fromthe example of Jesus Christ and the way He reached out to those who neededhelp.

We stand to sing our first HYMN CP 262 How great Thou art
O Lord my God! when I in awesome wonderconsider all the works thy hand hath made.
I see the stars, I hear the mighty thunder,
thy power throughout the universe displayed:
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to thee,
How great thou art! How great thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God to thee,
How great thou art! How great thou art!
When through the woods and forest glades I wanderand hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees;
when I look down from lofty mountain grandeur,
and hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze:
And when I think that God his Son not sparing,
sent him to dieI scarce can take it in.
That on the cross my burden gladly bearing,
he bled and died to take away my sin:
When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation
and take me homewhat joy shall fill my heart!
Then shall I bow in humble adoration
and there proclaim, my god, how great thou art.
THE GREETING
The Lord be with you
and also with you.
Almighty God,
to whom all hearts are open, all desires known,
and from whom no secrets are hidden:
cleanse the thoughts of our hearts
by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit,

HARVEST PRAYER (read by one of the young people)
THE LITURGY OF THE WORD
We sit to say togetherPsalm 100
O be joyful in the Lord, all the earth;
serve the Lord with gladness
and come before his presence with a song.
Know that the Lord is God;
it is he that has made us and we are his;
we are his people and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and bless his name.
For the Lord is gracious; his steadfast love is everlasting,
and his faithfulness endures from generation to generation.
The FIRST READING from Romans 12:4-8
4For as in one body we have many members, and not all the members have thesame function, 5so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually weare members one of another. 6We have gifts that differ according to the grace givento us: prophecy, in proportion to faith; 7ministry, in ministering; the teacher, inteaching; 8the exhorter, in exhortation; the giver, in generosity; the leader, indiligence; the compassionate, in cheerfulness.
This is the word of the Lord
Thanks be to God
We stand and sing
HYMN CP 453 v 1 and 2
Great is thy faithfulness, O God my Father,
there is no shadow of turning with thee
Thou changest not, thy compassions they fail not,
as thou hast been thou for ever wilt be.

Great is thy faithfulness, great is thy faithfulness,
morning by morning new mercies I see;
all I have needed thy hand has provided,
great is thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me.
Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
sun, moon and stars in their courses above
join with all nature in manifold witness
to thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.
Great is thy faithfulness, great is thy faithfulness,
morning by morning new mercies I see;
all I have needed thy hand has provided,
great is thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me.
Great is thy faithfulness, great is thy faithfulness,
morning by morning new mercies I see;
all I have needed thy hand has provided,
great is thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me.

Glory to you, O Lord
6 After this, Jesus went across Lake Galilee (or, Lake Tiberias). 2 Many peoplefollowed him because they saw the miracles he did to heal the sick. 3Jesus went upon a hill and sat down there with his followers. 4 It was almost the time for the
Jewish Passover Feast.5 When Jesus looked up and saw a large crowd coming toward him, he said toPhilip, Where can we buy enough bread for all these people toeat?6 (Jesus askedPhilip this question to test him, because Jesus already knew what he planned to do.)7 Philip answered, Someone would have to work almost a year to buy enough
bread for each person to have only a little piece.8 Another one of his followers, Andrew, Simon Peters brother, said, 9 Here is aboy with five loaves of barley bread and two little fish, but that is not enough for somany people.

10Jesus said, Tell the people to sit down. There was plenty of grass there, andabout five thousand men sat down there. 11 Then Jesus took the loaves of bread,thanked God for them, and gave them to the people who were sitting there. He didthe same with the fish, giving as much as the people wanted.12 When they had all had enough to eat, Jesus said to his followers, Gather the
leftover pieces of fish and bread so that nothing is wasted.13
So they gathered upthe pieces and filled twelve baskets with the pieces left from the five barley loaves.
At the end the reader says
This is the Gospel of the Lord.
Praise to you, O Christ.

CP 470 I the Lord of sea and sky
I the Lord of sea and sky
I have heard my people's cryAll who dwell in dark and sin
My hand will save.I who made the stars of night
I will make their darkness bright.Who will bear my light to them?
Whom shall I send?
Here I am Lord
Is it I Lord?I have heard you calling in the night.
I will go LordIf you lead me
I will hold your people in my heart.
I the Lord of snow and rain,I have borne my people's pain;I have wept for love of them,
They turn away.I will break their hearts of stone,Give them hearts for love alone.I will speak my word to them.
Whom shall I send?
I the Lord of wind and flame,I will tend the poor and lame.
I will set a feast for them,My hand will save.
Finest bread I will provide,'Til their hearts be satisfied.I will give my life to them,
Whom shall I send?(c) 1981 Daniel L Schutte SJ, North American Liturgy Resources,

THE EUCHARISTIC PRAYER
The Lord is here
His Spirit is with us
Lift up your hearts
We lift them to the Lord
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God
It is right to give thanks and praise
Lord of all life, you created the universe, where all living things reflect your glory.
You give us this great and beautiful earth, to discover and to cherish.
You give us sun and moon and star-lit sky, everything that gives us light,light for our eyes, our hearts, our minds.
You made us all, each wonderfully different, to join with the angelsand sing your praise:
Holy, holy, holy Lord,God of powr and God of might,
heaven and earth are full of your glory.
Hosanna in the highest;
Hosanna, hosanna, hosanna in the highest.
Hosanna, hosanna, hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he, blessed is he,
blessed is he who comes in the name,
he who comes in the name of the Lord.hosanna in the highest;
Hosanna, hosanna, hosanna in the highest.
Hosanna, hosanna, hosanna in the highest.

We thank you, loving Father, because, when we turned away,you sent Jesus, your Son.He gave his life for us on the cross and shows us the way to live.Send your Holy Spirit that these gifts of bread and winemay be for us Christs body and his blood.
On the night before he died, when darkness had fallen, Jesus took bread.He gave thanks, broke it, and shared it with his disciples, saying:This is my body, given for you.Do this to remember me.
After they had eaten, he took the cup of wine, gave thanks, and shared it with hisdisciples, saying: This is my blood, poured out for you and for many,for the forgiveness of sins.
So Father, with this bread and this cup we celebrate his love, his death, his risenlife. As you feed us with these gifts, send your Holy Spirit,
and change us more and more to be like Jesus our Saviour.
Help us, Father, to love one another, as we look forward to that daywhen suffering is ended, and all creation is gathered in your loving arms.And now with Paul and all your saints we give you glory,through Jesus Christ, in the strength of the Spirit, today and for ever.Amen.
We sit and silence is kept
THE LORDS PRAYER
As our Saviour has taught us, so we pray
Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy Kingdom come;
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power and the glory
for ever and ever. Amen.

THE BREAKING OF BREAD
The president breaks the consecrated bread
We break this bread to share in the body of Christ.
Though we are many, we are one body,
Because we all share in one bread.
We say together
Jesus, Lamb of God,
have mercy on us.
Jesus, bearer of our sins
have mercy on us.
Jesus, redeemer of the world,
grant us peace.

Anthem: Look at the world John Rutter
CP 383 Be still for the presence of the Lord
Be still for the presence of the Lord
The holy one is here
Come bow before him now
With reverence and fear
In him no sin is found
We stand on holy ground
Be still for the presence of the Lord
The holy one is here
Be still for the glory of the Lord
Is shining all around
He burns with holy fire
With splendour he is crowned
How awesome is the sight
Our radiant king of light
Be still for the glory of the Lord
Is shining all around
Be still for the power of the Lord
Is moving in this place
He comes to cleanse and heal
To minister his grace
No work too hard for him
In faith receive from him
Be still for the power of the LordIs moving in this place

THE BANNS OF MARRIAGE and NOTICES
HARVEST BLESSING read by one of the young people
We stand for the finalHYMN CP 275 We plough the fields and scatter during which
the servers and choir go to the back of the church.
We plough the fields, and scatter the good seed on the land,but it is fed and watered by Gods almighty hand:
he sends the snow in winter, the warmth to swell the grain,the breezes, and the sunshine, and soft, refreshing rain.
All good gifts around us are sent from heaven above;then thank the Lord, O thank the Lord, for all his love.

He only is the maker of all things near and far;he paints the wayside flower, he lights the evening star;the winds and waves obey him, by him the birds are fed;
much more to us, his children, he gives our daily bread.All good gifts around us are sent from heaven above;then thank the Lord, O thank the Lord, for all his love.
We thank thee then, O Father, for all things bright and good,the seed-time and the harvest, our life, our health, our food.
Accept the gifts we offer for all thy love imparts,and, what thou most desirest, our humble thankful hearts.
All good gifts around us are sent from heaven above;
then thank the Lord, O thank the Lord, for all his love.
Go in peace to love and serve the Lord
In the name of Christ, Amen.
