Lobay ll combines the effjciency ofHID light sources with special lensoptics to produce a compact lumi-naire that provides a variety of spacingcriteria. This makes Lobay ll anexcellent choice, both for installa-tion and operating economy, and forexceptional uniformity at low tomedium mounting heights.Unique optical systemLobay ll achieves wide, "squaredistribulion" lighting by utilizing acompletely new optical assemblywhich consists of:1. Aluminum reflector with highretlectance, white baked enamelapplied to the interior in variousincrements. The combinationof specular, anodized alu minu mreflector contour and incrementalpaint treatment has been precisionengineered to provide, with properlens, spacing criteria of 1.3, 1.5, 1.8and 2.0.2. Cleir tempered glass roundel abovethe lens.The Quadrature lens is injectionmolded with the visual appearanceof four separate quadrants joinedtogether at the center. The ballastassembly simply slides onto the splicebox, two screws secure the housing,electrical connections are made, andthe optical assembly is attached. Athroughway wiring splice box ("-TWB")is available, as an option, wheredesired.Ease ol maintenanceFor relamping, simply unlatch the doorand allow it lo hinge downward, orremove as desired. After the lamp hasbeen changed, merely swing the doorup and latch into place.Enclosed and gaskeledoptical assemblyThe standard luminaire optical assemblyis enclosed. The lens is gasketed ln thedoor frame, with another gasketbetween the top of the retlector and theballast assembly. This will allow thefixture to be used where dirt andinsects could be a problem.

Wet location optionWheae excessive moisture is prevalent,a specially sealed version of Lobay ll,which is UL listed as 'Suitable for WetLocations", is available as an option. ltis not recommended tor use wherehigh pressure water spray is used.Wide range of applicationsBecause of its combination ot a widevariety of spacing criteria, squaredistribution and the availability of a lowbrightness lens, Lobay ll is ideal formost low and medium mountingapplications.For instance, in some manufacturingareas, notably machine shops wherework is done on specular metal sur-Jaces,the point-source ref lection ofopen bottom HID luminaires may causesome reflected glare problems. Lobayll, wh ich is luminous over a largesurface area, will minimize this glareand produce a more comfortableenvironment.Another example is the "clean room."where very high light levels aregenerally needed to accomplishintricate tasks. The large number offluorescent fixtures needed to achievethese levels creales very high ceilingbrightness, causing eye adaptationproblems when technicians look upfrom their work. Lobay ll solves theproblem with far tewer, low brighlnessfixtu res.The 400W units are UL listed ior 40'C(104'F) operation, while all other unitsare listed for55'C (131'F). both assuringlong ballast liJe.Some typical applications where Lobay llis specially suited include machineshops, clean rooms, food processingareas, swimming pools, paper mills,textile mills, inspection areas, assemblylines and exposition areas.
