Term 3 Staff - A special welcome back to Miss Brooke who had last term off with her family travelling and seeing some amazing sites that Australia has to offer. Welcome back also to Mrs McCabe who was stationed at Young North for the term in a higher duties role relieving as an Assistant Principal. It is great to have them back at Holman. The students coped incredibly well with the change, which is a credit to the relieving teachers as well as Chris and Ruth. Students had been practicing their skills but unfortunately, due to low numbers this was cancelled. Sickness – Unfortunately we are once again experiencing the gastro bug throughout the school. Could I please ask if your child has had vomiting or diarrhoea, do not send them to school for at least 24 hours after their last episode. We have also had an expected case of ringworm in the school. Please check your child and if you are suspicious of any marks consult your doctor or pharmacist for confirmation and treatment. RDA – We were happy to be back at RDA this week but also realised how much it is heating up. We will have our last ride on the 14 th November for RDA this year. I would like to thank the organisers and volunteers of RDA for running such a wonderful program that our students love to participate in. Bunnings BBQ Thankyou to the Hawkins’ family for organising a fundraising BBQ at Bunnings last Friday. Tiana and Nash helped cook the sausages and serve customers with the help of Mr Lynch. It was a great effort from all involved and money raised was donated to the P&C. We would like to thank Narelle and her team for a great time. End of Year Monster Raffle – The P&C are once again holding the Monster Hamper Raffle this year. We would love donations to come in again to fill our baskets. Wombats

Welcome back to Term 4! Sue and I are so impressed with how everyone has come back so happy and settled. Sounds like they all had a great break.

The Wombats have shown an increased interest in the classroom library this fortnight. We have spent more time

reading as a class, creating artworks linked to the books and time tabling a session in to the school library to update our books.

Rockmelon was the flavour of the week for taste test Tuesday. While not proving as popular as the starfruit or watermelon, most of them gave it a shot.

We have started talking about keeping ourselves safe. This includes learning about road safety, seatbelts, safe and unsafe behaviours and people who keep us safe. This should be a very hands on and fun topic. Looking forward to keeping you updated.

Louise and Sue

Koalas

Hi everyone and welcome to Term 4.

Over the holidays students entered items in the Cowra and Morongla Shows. In the craft section, Noah, Jye and Dale received prizes for their artworks.

This term we are continuing our literacy

and maths programs, we will also be doing a unit on the environment.

Over the past week Koalas joined senior students playing T-Ball learning to catch, throw and strike.

Students have also resumed RDA and gymnastics where they work within the community learning

great skills while interacting with others.

In the kitchen Ollie, Wade and Mathew are proved to be great assistants while making chocolate fudge.

Tash and I would like to thank parents/carers for their continued support during 2018.

Goannas

WOW! My first newsletter after 14 weeks at another school! Welcome back to term 4 Goannas and parents. I am very pleased to be back and happy to say with Miss Alex filling in on Fridays.

The past two weeks have flown and we are all

working away at our IEP goals.

I am thrilled to be attending the PCYC gymnastics this term. As luck would have it I now get to see RDA in action as well for the next few weeks.

In numeracy, we are looking at numbers up to 3 digits and playing

games to help us say them.

During literacy we are focusing on writing simple sentences using a subject and a verb. Phew! Enjoy the term, great to be back.

Emus

What a great surprise it was to come back to school with ‘Welcome Back’ posters on the door and windows.

Miss Toni did a great job with the Emus class during my absence.

Since school returned we have started studying the history of transport.

throwing water sponges and enjoying a sausage sandwich.

The Emus have resumed cooking responsibilities back in the kitchen for canteen.

Now that the weather is warming up please ensure that your child has a hat to wear in the playground.

Miss Brooke and Chris

We have been working on place value in maths. Some students have been trying to master reading big numbers.

We have been practising T-Ball at school and basketball at PCYC.

Yesterday we attended Post School Options open day. The kids had a great time decorating cupcakes, playing darts,

of very interesting descriptions based on them.

Term 4 is already shaping up to be a very busy end to the year, with lots of exciting things planned already.

Miss Tahlia, Miss Silvia

using the proceeds to purchase some zucchini, cucumber and tomato plants for the gardens.

In Maths this term, we will be focusing on calculating with money and making informed decisions about purchases.

Kangaroos

Welcome back to Term 4! We have all had a restful break, and are well and truly back into the school routine.

A huge thank you to everyone who purchased vegetables from our market stall last Friday. The gardens are certainly looking bare now! We will be
