The Advanced Care Paramedicine program prepares Primary Care Paramedics with an advanced scope of practice to meet the needs of the health care system throughout Canada. This program addresses the operational and procedural skills, as well as the skills required to make criticalandsounddecisions,confidencetomanageavarietyof situations, effective verbal and written communications skills, interpersonal skills, leadership skills and to make healthy lifestyle decisions to maintain well being. Train for employment in long-term care facilities in the public and private sectors. You will gain an appreciation of the resident care worker’s role in mental health facilities, home care, and with community agencies. Degree pathways such as articulation agreements and transfer credits give you theopportunitytobeginyourstudiesatoneinstitutionandfinishatanother.HollandCollegehasmorethan150agreementswithuniversitiesandother post-secondary institutions across Canada, in the U.S. and overseas. There are a variety of joint applied degree programs and 2+2 programs that enable you to earn a university degree in as little as two years after you have your Holland College diploma, along with other agreementsthatcanleadtocertifications.

Onthejobtrainingandinternshipsgiveyoutheopportunitytoexperiencerealdaytoday operations in your area of study. You get to use the skills and knowledge that you’ve acquired, and to interact with staff members on the work site. Students must complete theirOJTorinternshiprequirementsinordertograduate.
