Step onto the ice confident in your ability to encourage participation amongst your athletes while helping them have fun
The Coach Stream clinic focuses on getting your players moving in the right ways and enjoying themselves while introducing them to the sport of hockey You will also learn the fundamentals of fitness and how to be a positive role model to your athletes
LEARNING OUTCOMES
Upon completing this clinic you will be trained to
bull Use HOCKEY CANADA resources to plan onoff-ice activities
bull Communicate effectively with players parents officials and league administrators
bull Encourage participants and work within fair play guidelines
bull Conduct safe effective and age-appropriate on-ice practice drills
bull Apply an ethical decision making process
CLINIC STRUCTURE
This is an 8-hour in-classroom clinic with an optional on-ice session
PRIOR LEARNING
You may be asked to complete a fun and easy ldquopre-taskrdquo workbook to help kick-start your learning
EvALUATION ANd CERTIfICATION
Upon completion of this clinic you will be considered In-Training Submitting the ldquopost-taskrdquo Mentor Journal Evaluation will give you Community Sport ndash Trained status To receive Community Sport ndash Certified status you will need to complete the Make Ethical Decisions (MED) Online Evaluation
Some coaches may be required to attend one or more of the following non-NCCP clinics
bull Speak Outbull Respect In Sportbull Safety First
AGE ANd dIvISION Of ATHLETES
bull Community athletes (ages 7 to 10) bull Recreational athletes (ages 11 to 17)
