Source Databases

In mirroring mode, the source and target databases can be any combination of the databases listed.

Specified records are replicated only when changes are notified (via log or triggers.)

Can be combined with Refresh replication.

DBMoto Case Study -1-

Physicians Associates, a medical network with over 800 physicians in San Gabriel Valley (Southern California)

Core IT system is based on IBM iSeries with DB2 databases

In-house built web-based medical management software for physician referral written in ColdFusion

Accessing DB2 directly was not offering the performance required

“DBMoto is easy to use, and I got it to work on my first attempt. Most importantly, it allows us to provide real-time data to our physician providers. DBMoto was well worth our investment. With DBMoto, we can leverage Microsoft SQL Server Web components, still relying on our core IBM iSeries system. HiT Software technical support team is awesome and they are very responsive and attentive to our needs.”

DBMoto Case Study -2-

Physicians Associates decided to explore a different path:

The PA solution kept the iSeries as its core IT database, but used DBMoto to replicate data to SQL Server to provide high-performance, non-disruptive access to data, better data security

DBMoto gave Physician Associates more control over the data without interfering with the iSeries production system

The DBMoto solution came at a fraction of the price of other iSeries replication tools
