The Computer's Ancestors• The Burroughs adding machine was a

contraption which printed out columns of numbers and dates

• In the very beginning of computer technology, there were two computer concepts and a computer built, the Analytical and Difference engine

• In June, 1948, the first modern computer (named Baby) came up with the right answer on the display.

• Designed in Philadelphia

• J. Presper Eckert and John Mauchly were the designers

• Only one ever made

• Apple 1- The first highly successful PC

• The MITS Altair 8800 was a microcomputer design from 1975

• The ADM-3A was one of the first computer terminals manufactured by Lear Siegler

• The Xerox Alto was one of the first computers designed for individual use
