I liked this painting because of the tones of blue and brown the author chose to depict the beauty of the landscape.

This piece of art was created by john Frederick Kensett the title is a foggy sky . It was created in 1872.

“Melpomene”

A Joseph Fagnani’s painting created in 1869.the medium used at this painting is oil on canvas. its Dimensions are 43 1/2 x 33 1/2 in. (110.5 x 83.8 cm).

I chose this piece because it shows the image of the woman in a very realistic way. Its almost like a picture.

“High Point: Shandaken Mountains”

This painting was created by Asher Brown Durand in 1853.the medium is oil on canvas . The dimensions are 32 3/4 x 48 in. (83.2 x 121.9 cm).the credit line is bequest of Sarah Ann Ludlum .

I picked the painting because I liked the way the artist managed space .

“The basket Maker”

The author was Louis Lang. the painting was made in 1853. its dimensions are 27 1/4 x 34 1/4 in. (69.2 x 87 cm).its medium is oil on canvas. The credit line is attributed to Bequest of Sarah Ann Ludlum, 1877.

I liked this one because the author use derivations of almost the same color.

“The Antiquary”the artist is Edwin white. It was made on 1855. the dimensions are22 1/4 x 27 1/4 in. (56.5 x 69.2 cm). Its medium is oil on canvas . and the credit line is to a gift from the author.

What I liked of this piece was the use of different reds and warm colors .It really captured my attention.

“Sundown at Centre Harbor, New Hampshire.”

The author is William Trots Richard. He created it in 1874.the medium used were watercolor, gouache, and graphite on gray-green wove paper.

I liked how the author show a contrast between the colorful wood in the front with the almost colorless background.

“The Horses of Anahita or The Flight of Night”.

It was created by Williams Morris Hunt. It was created on the year 1848-50.medium is plaster ,tinted. its a sculpture

I chose that one because the horse seem like it going to jump at you . The shape of the house is very realistic and show the beauty of wildness

“The African sentinel”

A painting by Elihu Vedder . The date is 1865. it was made of oil on canvas. the credit line is bequest of Stephen Whitney phoenix

This white and black painting is related with the message it want to express. the difference between slaves and slaves owners.

A piece by john William Hill . Made in 1870.the medium is watercolor , graphite, and gouache on off-white Bristol board.

A delightful piece of art that shows nature in a very intense way.

Made by john William Hill , In the year 1874.it was painted on watercolor and graphite on off-white wove paper.

I liked this one because is soft and can be a beautiful ornamental piece for a house.
