2008 - 2009 General Manager Auto One Australia Ltd The responsibilities of this position were significantly over-estimated and as it turned out, it was actually more aligned to a Chief Executive Officer position. I was therefore officially promoted to Chief Executive Officer shortly after joining the company and the bulk of my responsibilities remained the same. !2006 - 2008 National Sales Manager – Parts & Accessories

BMW was founded in 1916 and today is one of the world’s most popular, trusted and well known luxury car retailers and manufactures. In 2010, BMW produced just under 1.5 million cars and approximately 112,271 motorcycles.

Responsibilities • Manage the Australian parts and accessory business at both strategic and operations levels • Work with both the operations and strategic teams towards meeting a $110 million sales target • Negotiation of internal budgets and the implementation of budgets across the network • Conduct discussions and meetings regarding the operation of the business across all departments • Work closely and manage five direct reports (i.e. Business Development Managers) located in

various states around Australia • Based in Melbourne, I was responsible for overseeing the operations and performance of 37

dealerships nationwide • Develop and implement and new dealership relationship structure with the aim of strengthening the

professional relationship between BMW Group Aftersales and Dealership management from DP level down.

Achievements • Lead the national introduction of the BMW Lifestyle mechanise store program, this resulted in

all BMW dealerships adopting retail specialist store within a store. • Exceeded annual wholesale and sales targets each year by a minimum of 3.5% • Development and implementation of new initiatives (mainly focused on customer relationship

management) which resulted in increased sales across all areas of the business • Member of the Senior Executive Assessment Team (8 people) where we met once a year to

assess the performance of all Dealerships and possible solutions to any problems. My responsibilities in this position included assessing the aftersales viability of Dealerships, liaise with Dealership Principals, assist in devising business plans for each Dealership and determining the ratings for each Dealership and making vital decisions as to their performance

• Managed and implemented a new national pricing structure for all parts and accessories (RF). This allowed for a flexible margin control platform across both fast and slow moving parts at both BMW AU and Dealer points.

• Implemented a dealership training program covering CRM and Inventory management reducing dealership exposure to dead stock and improving (DIFOT) delivered on time in full.

• Designed with the assistance of the Business Development department and managed the implementation of a new “what if” scenario planning tool. This allowed both BMW Group and dealerships to effectively model different aftersales strategies and determine the best return of investment. Inputs included both workshop and parts department KPI and actions and allowed management to holistically plan and act.

• Worked constructively with dealerships to mentor and train all aftersales staff, this respectful partnership resulted in an environment of mutual respect that fostered the successful implementation of many projects. !!!

Responsibilities • Manage Customer Relations and Warranty services by implementing BMW Germany and

BMW Group Australia procedures, policies and plans to ensure Dealer and BMW warranty claims are settled promptly, efficiently and completely and that BMW customers are provided with a positive pro-active response to their complaints and criticisms of BMW Group Australia and its Dealer Network or their services.

• In co-operation with relevant BMW AG departments develop and implement strategies and actions to actively improve the levels of customer and warranty services provided for BMW Dealers and customers within agreed parameters and objective standards.

• Supervision of Customer Service Engineers and support of Regional Aftersales Managers in their specialist roles and in cooperation with the Area Managers.

• Supervision of Technical Manager to ensure continuity of technical support to dealer, ZQ and AG staff.

• Supervision of Technical Support Engineer to ensure continuity of technical support for "new technologies" to dealer and ZQ staff.

• To support and develop the objectives of BMW Australia as part of the Executive Management team.

Connected Drive contracts.

Achievements • As the National Implementation Manager who delivered the BMW “Connected Drive” project in

Australia. This involved liaison with a broad range of parties to successfully launch the project, including: legal entities, government bodies, content providers, motoring associations, the media and the Managing Director of BMW. This also included facilitation with BMW AG at multiple levels. This project resulted in increased sales and brand awareness and acted as a ‘competitive edge’ for BMW at the time.

• Implementation of a new structure for dealing with critical customer concerns which resulted in increased CSI scores and reduced buy backs.

• Implementation of the Reception at the Car program. • Management of the introduction of effective business training programs (AMDP) through which we

increased dealership aftersales management skills that lifted absorption levels, which in turn improved overall dealership profitability.
