He was staying with my parents and as he left his previous residence to collect clothes and other belongings on October 8th, he decided to stop off at a Laundromat to wash his clothes so my mother would not have to do it for him. As he arrived at my parents’ house, he proceeded to tell my mother about his encounter. He said “you won’t believe what happened to me…” and as he told her, she knew right away, because she is a member of one of our PBA churches. I feel that this had a great impact on my uncle especially during his struggles, both physically and spiritually. To this day, we do not know which Laundromat he went to, and in fact we will never know. My uncle died on December 19, 2011. You may never hear from those people that were specifically impacted, but keep in mind that our duty of serving others is a blessing to everyone involved, including yourself. Two things come to my mind, when I think about his story… One is that you never know someone’s situation when you meet them and you may do or say the very thing they need that particular day. Second is you may never realize what that day means to someone. You see October 8th was my uncle’s birthday, his last birthday here on earth.”

specifically impacted, but keep in mind that our duty of

serving others is a blessing to everyone involved,
