Received a bursary from Boart Longyear to study following work I did with them during my holiday.

Awarded the group prize for most outstanding initiative with the establishment of a fully-fledged training centre.

SANParkso Company profile – 17 national parks. 1 300 employees.o Position – Human Resources Development Manager for all national parks, excl Kruger National Park.o Special achievements

CEO award for the development of a Supervisory Development Programme which was officially accredited and recognized by SA Technicon.

Facilitated the development programme for the first ever black Park Warden in South Africa (Addo Elephant National Park), who became the first black CEO of SANParks.

GRC Resorts (RCI affiliated timeshare resort group)o Company profile – 5 RCI holiday resorts, 15 companies, 820 employees.o Position – Human Resources Manager for the group, also involved with operations in the group.o Special achievements

Facilitated the upgrade of Pine Lake Marina to Golf Crown status within RCI. Implemented various productivity programmes at Crystal Springs and Ngwenya Lodge in the

service sections that was a 1st in the Industry.

Fancourt Golf and Country Club Estateo Company profile – 420 homeowners.o Company accolades – Best Golf Estate in the world.o Position – General Manager of the Fancourt Master Home Owners’ Association.o Special achievements

Implemented various preventative maintenance programmes which principles have been assessed by other estates and implemented accordingly.

Involved with the Nelson Mandela 666 concert and the President’s Cup.

Pinnacle Point Beach and Golf Resorto Company profile – 400 homeowners.o Company accolades – Ranked under Top 10 new golf estates in the world.o Position – Estate Manager of the Pinnacle Point Beach and Golf Resort Homeowners Association.o Special achievements

Implemented a state of the art Security Control Room and facilitated the upgrade of a full security network.

Implemented a porter service with a change from traditional methods with golf carts to small vehicles with porters wearing ties and jackets.

Implemented a first time detailed holiday programme. Part of the Charity Cup tournament, having the President as a guest of honour.

Mabula Private Game Reserveo Company profile – hotel, three timeshare camps, tented camp, 110 private homes on the estate as a

separate Homeowners Association, Big 5 on 12 500 hectares, 420 employees.o Company accolades – Gold Crown timeshare resort.o Position – General Manager of Mabula Private Game Reserve, which included the lodge, timeshare

camps, game management and homeowners association.o Special achievements

Facilitated the change of a service provider for security and gardens. Established a large member entertainment centre with entertainment programmes and big

screen TV. Upgraded the existing health and beauty spa and in-sourced the management of the spa. Upgraded and changed the Reception area and whole experience for timeshare guests during

their arrival.

Huge success with baboon management programme resulted in documentaries done by BBC World News and a Dutch TV station and a PhD student doing her doctorate on the success of the estate’s programme. I have presented a case study of the success we have achieved at a national Baboon Management Forum, where 82 different organisations were present from across South Africa.

In-sourced the financial management, human resources management, alien clearing and waste water management with huge annual savings for the estate.

Implemented and facilitated various social responsibility programmes where the staff and members are directly involved with the programme.

Awards, best redevelopment project in the world and international excellence in design.o Position – General Manager of Thesen Islands.o Special achievements

Facilitated the changeover from a manual access control procedure to a biometric access control system (finger print access).

Facilitated a process for the installation of fibre on to the Island.

In addition to the above special achievements, am I proud of the following achievements over a period of time that are not work related and which gives an indication of my character and commitment in what I do:

o I achieved the 2nd place in a national debating competition between all schools in South Africa in my matric year in 1983 and attended a private dinner with Minister FW de Klerk at his home following the awards.

o I was given the Chief of the Army award by General Jannie Geldenhuys in 1985 in my final year of national service for exceptional organizational skills following my responsibility to facilitate the movement of soldiers between Pretoria and the border.

o I was given a special merit award by the Rector of the University of Pretoria in 1988 following a charity concert I arranged for more than 1 000 handicapped children from Pretoria as part of an effort as Chairman of the RAG Committee.

o I received my national colours for athletics in 2008. o I have been happily married for 25 years.

I am passionate about the service industry. I am analytic by nature, systems driven by nature and can manage multiple projects successfully. I am a team player who believes in shared ownership of projects for my team, which ownership results in synergy to the benefit of the team and the estates.

I have completed my CMCA examination through the South African chapter of the Community Association Institute (USA accredited qualification) and act as the Chapter leader of the Eastern and Southern Cape area, consisting of some of the top estates in South Africa.

I am a passionate and active sportsman and enjoy marathon running, trail running, race walking and squash. Although I can play golf, have I limited this to occasions such as annual contractors’ golf days and staff competitions. My wife and two children (aged 20 and 16) are very special to me. We respect traditional family values and support one another. My success to date can only be contributed to (1) a wife who has full empathy and gives me all the support with the challenges in the industry, (2) my passion to strive for excellence in what I do and (3) my belief in God who assists me in all circumstances.
