The Role Fit Probe provides military helicopters with the option to rapidly convert into an air-to-air refuelling receiver. This capability effectively removes the need for an auxiliary fuel tank for extended range operations. Special attention has been given to the design of the probe system to ensure the interface requirements and impact on the host aircraft are kept to a minimum.

The probe can be constructed of composite material providing the benefits of combined light weight, high strength, corrosion resistance and minimum maintenance.

A compact solution, the probe is telescopically extended beyond the main rotor disc to provide safe separation during refuelling operations.

Cobham is a market leader in bespoke air refuelling probe design and manufacture; providing aircraft with enhanced operational capability and mission effectiveness.

The patented telescopic refuelling probe is fitted on Bell/Boeing V-22 Osprey
