It is important to incorporate dietary changes such as eating more fresh wholefoods (including fruit and vegetables, wholegrains, nuts and seeds, legumes and quality protein) and limit refined and processed food consumption. Additionally, a lifestyle with daily exercise (of at least 35 minutes) as well as adequate sleep and relaxation will often relieve these symptoms. Improving liver function and digestion through the use of herbal liver tonics such as St Mary’s thistle and dandelion, and using a good probiotic, are also important.

The use of nutritional supplements containing minerals, trace elements, essential fatty acids as well as a good multivitamin is becoming more widely recognised to be beneficial. Together, B6, B1, B2, B3, B5 and B12 provide optimum nutritional support for women of all ages. Zinc, often deficient in a diet high in refined and processed food, is needed for normal foetal development. Magnesium can help with muscle cramps and immune function. Calcium, manganese, iron, molybdenum and chromium are required for optimum health and are good for fatigue. Folate is important for conception and during pregnancy. Vitamin D and vitamin K are important for healthy bones. Iodine and selenium are important for healthy thyroid function.

The following herbs have been traditionally used to complement a healthy lifestyle with an approach to: balancing out hormone levels, detoxification, and improving the function of the circulatory system.

9hea l t h y homes Oc tobe r 2010

A complex combination of Antarctic krill and other vital EFAs, this incredible product is backed by extensive research involving clinical trials. Discover for yourself the amazing health benefits this scientifically proven supplement can provide.

What is krill?Krill (Euphasia superba) is a small, shrimp-like crustacean found in the icy waters of the Antarctic. Unlike fish, krill needs no decontamination to remove toxins or heavy metals because krill comes from the clean, cold waters of our great southern oceans and is naturally mercury-free.

Fish stocks are suffering − decimated under the weight of ever-increasing demand, but of the estimated 500 million tonnes of krill available, only 0.02% is being harvested. This means that harvesting krill over fish will result in far less environmental impact.

FROM THE DEPTHS OF THE SEA

EFA KRILL COMPLEX Krill oil is 55% more bioavailable than fish oilLess is more! Krill oil is 55% more bioavailable than standard fish oils. Therefore, you only need to take about half as much. This is due to its unique phospholipid bonding which allows more of the omega-3 fatty acids to pass through your intestinal wall. So, less is needed to achieve even greater results.

Clinical trials reveal amazing health benefitsEFA Krill Complex outperforms standard fish oils, with clinical studies revealing some very impressive results.

Cholesterol management and cardiovascular healthEFA Krill Complex was shown to significantly reduce bad cholesterol by nearly 34% and increase good cholesterol by more than 43%. Only three capsules a day are required for maintaining a healthy heart and cardiovascular system. See for yourself how krill oil compares to fish oil and a placebo in this randomised, double-blind clinical study. (See A)

Antioxidant ORAC scoreORAC stands for Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity, and is used to measure antioxidant capacities. Krill oil is also a very powerful antioxidant. Unlike fish oil, krill oil contains the antioxidant astaxanthin. This antioxidant is stronger than even beta-carotene or lycopene, making krill oil’s ORAC value 47 times greater than that of standard fish oil. The chart to the right gives us a picture of just how powerful krill oil can be. (See C)

Neways Supports the Make-A-Wish FoundationThe Very First WishAllhislife,ChristopherJamesGreicius(Chris)dreamed of becoming a police officer. This wish was to become the inspiration for the largest wish-granting organisation in the world.

After attending Chris’ funeral, two of the Arizona State Troopers reflected on the experienceofmakinghisdreamcometrue.

They thought that if one boy’s wish could be granted, maybe the same could be done for other children. At that moment, the idea for theMake-A-WishFoundationwasborn.
