• For Headline Measures from 2014 all eigible non-GCSE qualifications count as 'one' GCSE regardless of the size of the qualification

• Learners’ achievement is recognised in the tables when they turn 16

Existing BTEC Firsts (QCF)

• Accredited until 31 Dec 2012

• Certification end date 31 Dec 2015

• DfE Headline Measures 2013

○ No change, ALL current QCF qualifications will count

○ Some accredited NQF qualifications will count (Art & Design, I&CT, Sport - for one year new next generation BTEC First Awards only)

• DfE Headline Measures 2014

○ Extended Certificate (180GLH) or Diploma (360GLH) only

○ Will count as 1 GCSE regardless of size

○ Hospitality – Diploma (360GLH) only will count as 1 GCSE

○ Some QCF BTECs will not count (Public Services and Landbased)
