Using this Guide Where would you like to take your membership in 2016? Are you looking to target custom home builders? Remodelers? Single family builders? Would you like to be present at large formal events such as Holiday Party/Inaugural Dinner or SAM Awards? Are your key clients the general public? Do you prefer to network in a more casual setting, such as the golf outing, Elk Creek Sporting Clay or the BBQ Throw Down & Hoedown? This Marketing Guide will serve as the key on how to add value to your membership, build relationships, and generate recognition for your company in front of your industry peers. The HBA provides members an abundance of ways to achieve professional development and recognition. The sheer number of events and opportunities can be overwhelming, so we have produced this guide to help you plan your involvement for 2016 in advance. The HBA Marketing Guide highlights the majority of events produced by your association throughout the course of the year. All opportunities featured are accompanied by descriptions to give you a better idea of what the event/publication/sponsorship is all about. Each marketing opportunity not only includes an investment amount, but also the recognition you can expect in return. Getting the most from your membership also means getting involved. ADVERTISING Who’s Who Member Guide The annual member listing Guide is the essential reference on every primary member’s desk. The Guide includes contact information for every HBANKY member. The spiral bound format allows the Guide to lie flat or be folded back for easy handling. It is broken down into membership categories and again by business categories. Each member receives one listing by business category for free. Additional listings are available at a cost of $50 each. Display advertising rate sheet is on previous page.
Website Advertising The HBANKY website is the go to online source for consumers and members. Consumers visit the website to search for businesses and events, like Homefest. Members turn to the website to find the services and products they use every day, using an up-to-date member listing. It is also used to look for contact information. This is also accessible from the HBA’s mobile app available from the App Store and Google Play. This gives
people the opportunity to search for members while on the go. There is a variety of advertising options available from premium banner to budget-friendly featured listings. All website advertising includes link to advertiser’s website. Space is limited.

ADVERTISING Website Featured Listing The Featured Listing will be found on HBANKY.com “Find a Member” tab. This allows members have logo and photo or video imbedded in the list-ing. It also allows a 50 word description of services or prod-ucts, contact information and link to member’s website. The listings are rotational on the screen. So the same listing will not necessarily be at the top of the listing. When the list includes all the listings, all the featured businesses are listed. When the list is for a specific alphabet letter, only the featured businesses beginning with that letter will be visible. The cost for a featured listing is $500 per year. Membership must be maintained during active listing. Space is limited.
Monthly e-News The e-News provides members with up-to-the minute infor-mation on association events, industry news and govern-ment affairs. This timely news outlet is sent to in excess of 1,200 primary and dependent members. Space is limited. Parade of Homes at Saylor Woods The Parade of Homes is Northern Kentucky’s single site home show for the serious homebuyer. The show happens in the fall and focuses on drawing a spotlight on new homes and new home communities during the fall home sales market. The homes in the Parade of Homes are of a more moderate price range which allows the HBA to emphasize homes sales during the event.

Print artwork requiring work will be charged for layout at expense to advertiser at HBANKY’s rate of $75/hr. For information about artistic services call your account executive at 859.331.9500. HBANKY reserves the right to deny any advertisement at the sole discretion of HBANKY. HBANKY is not responsible for the quality or content of advertisement materials HBANKY does not create, including, but not limited to, third party ad materials.
BiLLinG And CAnCeLLATiOnsThe advertiser understands that they will be invoiced after HBANKY has completed its specific performance in publishing any issue or making live any internet advertisements. If the advertiser intends to dissolve any portion of this agreement it must be done, in writing, 30 days prior to the materials deadline date of any publication and that any cancellation will include a pro-rata adjustment to account for the change in frequency due to cancellation.
ACCOUnTs ReCeiVABLeThe advertiser understands that the advertiser must adhere to accounts receivable policies of the Home Builders Association of Northern Kentucky with respect to this agreement. The advertiser understands that any payment becoming delinquent will result in removal of any ad and presence from any and all publications, online presence, and HBANKY events but will not delete this agreement with respect to payment to HBANKY for any past or future advertisement. Any balance beyond 60 days will result in removal of any applied commissions, discounts and package/combo rates.
UsAGeHBANKY publications and websites may not be reproduced or shown, in whole or in part, for any other purpose or time than herein stated, without the express written permission of the HBANKY. Examples include, but are not limited to, the use of a publication or its parts as a separate commercial in another venue, or at trade shows, in model homes, on websites, for sales and marketing purposes by advertiser, or for distribution to the public.. The advertiser understands that they have a license to use the materials created by HBANKY only for the specific purpose indicated in services the advertiser has purchased and that they do not have the right to make any other use of the materials. HBANKY will provide pricing upon request for other or additional uses of the materials created by HBANKY.
FAiLURe TO PUBLish, OR APPeAR On inTeRneT & LiABiLiTYIf, due to public emergency, necessity, Act of God, or any other cause, including but not restricted to mechanical breakdowns beyond the HBANKY’s control, a publication or internet advertisement or its parts are unable to be telecast or published as contracted, HBANKY shall not be liable to Advertiser except to allow a pro-rata reduction in the time charges, advertising rates or allow a satisfactory substitute in later dates or publications or length of time contracted. Reductions, credits and make-goods must be reviewed and approved by HBANKY. This contract constitutes a legal agreement between the HBANKY and the Advertiser. Conditions and provisions have been agreed to and accepted.
RATesThe HBANKY reserves the right to increase any of the rates and charges set forth by public announcement of a new rate card. No increase shall be applicable to any space or internet advertisement, or telecast under contract. There will be a 10% charge on guaranteed positions for print publications.
MeChAniCAL ReQUiReMenTsAds should be submitted on disk (CD/DVD-R media preferred) along with a hardcopy or via FTP. Include all fonts and high-res images. All publications created in Adobe InDesign CS 5. If creating ads in programs other than the ones listed, save them in a high-resolution format that can be placed easily in a page layout program [PDF (preferred), EPS and TIFF] and include original files and supporting materials. PDF files must have fonts embedded. All color graphics should be in CMYK. HBANKY adheres to SWOP specifications. All halftone images should be at 133 linescreen 300 dpi. All line art graphics should be at 1200 dpi. No truetype fonts. Ads may be emailed to your HBANKY representative or uploaded to our FTP site. Please notify your account executive to receive the site address, username and password. Please limit to PDF files and FTP information. Faxed/mailed hard copies still recommended to ensure accuracy.
LAYOUT AssisTAnCeLayout assistance is available from HBANKY at the rate of $75 per hour. A non-binding rough estimate may be provided upon request as well as time records for layout provided upon request of client.
siZinG Keep all live material minimum of .25” from trim on full bleed ads or follow “w/o Bleed” guidelines for content.
