CROSSMEN YOUTH & YOUTH SUNDAY

The Crossmen is our church Youth Group. It is open to kids in 4th grade thru High School. We meet eve-ry Tuesday at 5:30 PM. We also strive to do a fun activity or social project once a month. The Crossmen had originally set their minds to doing a youth service on July 29th. However due to uncon-trollable circumstances, it had to be postponed. We are now scheduled for our youth Sunday on Septem-ber 9th. Come and support our youth!

World Mission Offering

Missions is the very heart and life of the church. Join us at First Baptist from September 9th-30th as we seek to raise $750 to help the many ABC Interna-tional missions and missionaries. Give from the heart and help take the gospel to the world!

On December 28, 1843, First Bap-tist was founded. As we near the end of 2018, we find ourselves pre-paring to celebrate 175 years of worship and Christian fellowship. Due to our anniversary falling be-tween Christmas and New Years, we will be celebrating early on Sun-day October 21st. Tell your friends and come to the party!!!

Stewardship Sunday

If you have not al-ready, you will shortly be receiving our annual pledge card letter for 2019. We ask you to think and pray how you might contribute financially to the

Change is Underway! Due to contributions of some of our memorials from their loved ones, we have been able to see one change in our church facility and another in process. Through the gener-ous me-morials of Dave Bennett and Bob Pettit two new stoves have been purchased for our kitchen. A second contribution from Bob Pettit is the removal of the tree stumps in the garden with the hope of planting two dogwoods next spring. The flowering dogwood is

the legendary tree of the crucifix. It would be fitting to have these two trees by our

church and its ministries. These pledges help us to plan an effective budget for the upcoming year. On Sunday September 23rd, we will be collecting the pledge cards along with our regular offerings. You may also turn the pledge cards in earlier to the church if you desire.

Revised Constitution Proposal The constitution proposal for consolidating of our commit-tees and boards is available at the back of the sanctuary. Pick up a copy today. Then join us for a special called meeting after worship on October 7th to vote on these pro-posed changes to our constitution.
