Jr. governor's message
Progress continues on the improvements to
our lodge. The WOTM hired a painting contrac-
tor to paint the ceilings and soffits which is now
complete. Pat Niles, Patty Robertson and Ruth
Slater have painted the two end walls in the so-
cial quarters. With the addition of Peggy York
these ladies have completed the walls and divid-
ers in the dining room and banquet halls. We are
still cleaning up from the mess from the painting
and will be re-hanging the fans and chandeliers.
Please come in and see the new look of our so-
cial quarters, banquet room and dining area,
thanks to the work of these ladies.
Due to the increase of prices from our distrib-
utors, a committee is reviewing the current pric-
es of drinks, verses cost. We will have to make
some adjustments on our drink prices, which will
go into effect on October 15, 2016. Please keep
in mind that all of our mixed drinks are served
with 1 &1/2 oz. of liquor, which most places
only serve 1oz. of liquor per drink.
Thanks to Tom Miller, Steve Crievson and
Dick Van Hout for volunteering to cook for the
steak fry which is planned for October 15.
As always, we are looking for additional
members to step up and volunteer to work on
existing events, plus the new events that are be-
ing scheduled.
We would be happy to see new and old faces
to look at our continued improvements and join
us for our upcoming events. We hope to see you
soon! Tom Slater—Jr. Governor

Fall is in the air. Your
board of officer’s work tire-
lessly to insure we have fun
events for our members. As
always were looking for new
ideas that will draw the mem-
bership to the lodge. If you
have a great idea that you
would like to present, please
get a hold of me, I’ll take it to
the board. Any idea will be
appreciated and hopefully put
into the schedule. I look at
other lodges for ideas on
what they do for their mem-
bership. Most lodges have
music as their lead. Dinners,
Dinner shows, Bands, Activi-
ties for the children, trivia,
Moose races, Texas Hold-
em, bags. All good ideas I
see going on at other lodges.
September was a tough
month for cooler mainte-
nance. The Social Quarters
took a big hit. Two cooler’s
down and one questionable
for repair. Our large Kitchen
refrigerator needed work.
Folks these are big ticket
repair bills. How do we pay
for these? The membership!
We need the members to
come in and purchase items
we sell (dinners, drinks, any-
thing), that’s how we pay
bills.
The WOTM are having a
children’s Halloween party on
Oct 29 11am-1pm, be sure to
sign up in the lodge, please let
them know how many chil-
dren you are going to bring.
November 12, 2016 is our next band event. Thirsty Boots Band will be coming in. It’s a quality country band. Go too their web site for a preview. thethirstybootsband.com. A $5.00 cover to help pay for the band. Bring a few friends and come to your Moose Lodge. As usual food & drink will be offered for sale. This is an open to the public event.

We normally have be-tween 250 & 300 (sometimes more) at-tending this great and fun event!! Moose Members we need your help before, during, and after this awesome event please consider volunteering!
We have been doing some updating in the lodge. The WOTM have stepped up to hire a painter to paint the ceiling and soffits in the dinning & banquet room. Painting was done by Task Pro of Harvard. Nice job guys!
A special thanks to Ruth Slater, Patty Robertson, Peg York, and Pat Niles for painting the walls and fold-ing divider doors. The men took down all the fans and lights to clean them. The fans have been lowered and
lights have been painted by Ruth Slater. The furnace registers have been cleaned and painted by Tom Slater. They really look good!
We would like to see more WOTM members join us at our meetings on the 1st & 3rd Thursdays of the month ...We are still look-ing for a Senior Regent.
We have had several people step up and offer to help!! It is greatly appreci-ated! We can always use more help with many differ-ent tasks.
