HoH Retreat March 30 - April 1 A weekend filled with singing, laughing, coaching, learning, and inspiration in preparation for our trip to Denver. Every singing Herald MUST be at the retreat to insure a great result at International . Our guest coaches will be Steve Jamison and Bob Hodges. There’ll be quartetting, choreo training, games, lots of laughs and absolutely NO SPEECHES by Bob Morrissey. We promise! Retreat location is LUTHER SPRINGS near Hawthorne, FL. It’s a beautiful place and a chance to enjoy our hobby in a wonderful time of fellowship and fun. Last February the Heralds were invited to launch the 50th Anniversary celebration of the First Christian Church of Largo with a special Sunday afternoon concert. The house was packed and the reception was fabulous. Well, the guys have been asked to return for another show. On February 18, 2007, the Heralds will be performing at CROSSROADS CHRISTIAN CHURCH in Largo (formerly “First Christian Church of Largo”) at 3:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 and are available through the church office: 727-584-8601 Church address: 1645 Seminole Blvd. in Largo Last year’s event was a “sell-out”, so make your ticket plans early to enjoy another delightful afternoon with the Heralds and their musical guests, “LAST CALL ”.

On that Saturday, the Central Florida Chapter’s HEART OF FLORIDA CHORUS will be hosting a spectacular Benefit for all the 2007 International qualifiers from the Sunshine District. The two shows that day will take place in the beautiful VILLAGES , south of Ocala. The Heralds performed in this delightful community a few years ago to a packed house and a terrific, responsive audience. And, once again, the Heart of Florida Chapter is preparing to generate fantastic support and significant financial assistance to all of our district’s Denver competitors. Every Herald should plan to spend this Saturday performing on these shows. It’s the least we can do for such generous fellow

A Night for Celebrating

On Wednesday, January 10, the Heralds gathered in the beautifully decorated Scottish Rite banquet hall to enjoy an evening of good fellowship, fine food, music, laughter, and to reflect on chorus accomplishments of 2006. The evening’s festivities, hosted by HoH president Bob Morrissey, included songs from the chorus, two chapter quartets (Songfellows and Talk of the Town), and a special surprise performance by OUR TOWN (featuring Terry Clark, Larry Tully, Jamie Carbone, and Scott Brannon). They brought the house down and were called back to the stage for an encore! The 2007 HoH leadership installation ceremony was conducted by Dan Brinkmann and some comments by District President, Shannon Elswick, offered very meaningful encouragement and appreciation to the chorus.
