DC REPORT MAY 7th
BRIAN WOODS MEMORIAL SHOW JUMPING What an amazing day. 21 riders competed with 3 riders having second horses. John Pearce did an amazing job as
coarse designer and judge. Meaghan Moras purchased sausages and bread for the canteen, which everyone seemed
to enjoy after the show jumps had been all packed away.
We also had one fall at the Brian Woods, Shelby Young.
Shelby was unhurt and remounted her horse Bear.
All who attended had a wonderful day and pack up was
super fast. Members and families were extremely
supportive of all our wonderful kids and their riding

COMBINED TRAINING REPORT
Wow what a day! 123 entered riders with a few
scratchings on the day. Gates opened at 7am, with last of
us leaving by 6pm. The canteen had huge takings on the
day of over $2,000. Tanya Langdon will have the final
figures once the treasury report is completed. Jess Harris
made $400.00 with the raffle (lucky dip).
The day started out wonderful! A little overcast with the
sun trying to shine through, by the afternoon the wind hit!
Grades 1, 2 and 3 Pony Club and 1 and 2 open managed to
complete their show jumping and dressage before the
wind hit. The rest of the sections battled on through with
gale force winds, dressage arenas blowing over and show
jumps falling over!
Well done all riders who competed in these conditions, it
would not have been easy riding.
I’d like to congratulate all our members who competed
and all families who assisted with both the set up Saturday
21st and the running of the day Sunday 22nd. Without you all the day would not have run so smoothly!
I’d also like to thank the riding members who also assisted as well as riding, Anna Gurnett penciled all day,
Georgia lacekels, Isobel Moras and Siobhan Laffan cooked the bbq in the afternoon, Charleigh Anne
assisted with show jumping stewarding as did Adele and Olivia Iannou.
Ebony Fennel and Zoe Phelan assisted with rail pick up when not riding also.
Scores went up on time, with no complaints or protests. A couple of query’s were sorted out fast.
Many families went over and above their call of duty, filling in for others who were either no shows or
unable to attend. The club can only run these events with the help of ALL members and their families!
This event is our major fundraiser and the money raised goes towards paying our instructors fees
throughout the year. I cannot thank those families enough who assisted and helped over the 2 days.
Thank-you Thank-you Thank-you Bec Lacekels
