HAP Case Study The saveONenergy HOME ASSISTANCE program (HAP) is a provincial energy conservation program funded by the IESO and is being offered in partnership with your local electric utility. GreenSaver will do the work to complete your application and coordinate the installations for your facilities at no cost! This program funds all costs of supplying and installing upgrades in single family-type and low-rise multi-residential suites. GreenSaver partnered with the United Way of Bruce Grey last year to reach their clients. The United Way fills out applications on behalf of their clients and sends them to us for processing. For 10 years the United Way of Bruce Grey has advocated and assisted with utility bills for low income residents in Bruce and Grey Counties. In 2014 the United Way processed over $300 000 worth of utility grants for over 600 applicants. As the cost of utilities continues to rise, the United Way has been thrilled to partner with Greensaver to reduce consumption levels in a relevant and timely manner. United Way of Bruce Grey helped their clients receive: • 33 ENERGY STAR® Appliances (including fridges, freezers, window air conditioners and dehumidifiers) • Over 1,000 comfact fluorescent lightbulbs • Over 200 water saving measures (including low flow shower heads and tap aerators) • Attic, wall and basement insulation and draft proofing United Way of Bruce Grey helped their clients save: • Approximtaley $125,000 on energy bills annually • Approximately 850,000 kWh annual savings, the equivalent of about 71 homes “We’ve been thrilled to be able to help our clients and other community members access the GreenSaver program, reducing consumption reduces bills,which is a win-win for the community” Holly Devlin United Way of Bruce Grey Utility Assistance Program
