Spring has finally arrived! At HandsOn Twin Cities spring means there are
parks to clean, flowers to plant, walls to paint, yards to rake, weeds to pull
and much, much more.
With so many fantastic organizations doing great work in the community,
we’re happy to give you - the individuals and groups that want to help -

Dakota City Heritage Village
VILLAGE CLEANING DAY
Dakota City Heritage Village is a 1900-era village and museum
dedicated to connecting people to the rural past.

Friends of the Mississippi River, Lakeville
SOUTH CREEK, VERMILLION STEWARDS CLEAN-UP
Help clean up South Creek, which feeds the
Vermillion River, an important tributary of the Mississippi River
and trophy trout stream. This cleanup is part of a citywide cleanup,
and is also part of the Vermillion Stewards program.

THE ALIVENESS PROJECT Dining Out For Life Ambassador
Volunteer Ambassadors are stationed at one of over 180 area restaurants that will be donating a portion of their sales on
April 25th back to The Aliveness Project.
Singly or in pairs, Volunteer Ambassadors serve as the “face of The Aliveness Project” at the restaurant by welcoming and
thanking diners and handing out Dining Out For Life materials.

Join the award-winning restoration of Crosby Regional
Park, nestled at the confluence of the Mississippi and
Minnesota rivers in St. Paul. Volunteers are needed to
help plant native shrubs in a raingarden near the
newly renovated main parking area.

Opportunities for groups such as businesses, churches and scout troops
are available. Typically groups will do a one-day-only clean up, lilac
planting maintenance or storm sewer stenciling. Ongoing adopt-a-
street or lilac bed maintenance is also available.

STORM DRAIN STENCILING (St. Paul)
If you're looking for a great service outing that is educational, active,
outdoors and provides a significant community benefit, consider storm
drain stenciling with Friends of the Mississippi River. It's just one and a
half to three hours in length, and can be set at a time and St. Paul
location convenient for your group.
HABITAT RESTORATION (North and Northeast Minneapolis)
FMR is looking for groups based in North and Northeast Minneapolis to
assist with special cleanup or habitat restoration riverfront projects for
one or more two-to-three-hour volunteer outings this spring or summer.

Help us paint the hallways and community rooms in our
apartment buildings. Groups of 7 to 25 volunteers. Teens
age 14 and older with an adult chaperone.

Global Citizens Network
CULTURAL OPPORTUNITIES
Join GCN this summer with your family in volunteering
on community-led projects with indigenous and
marginalized groups in Minnesota and abroad.
In June, GCN will visit the White Earth community to
assist with preparations for their annual powwow.

City of Golden Valley
VARIOUS SUMMER OPPORTUNITIES
The City of Golden Valley offers a variety of ways for you to
share your time and talent. From supporting a one-time event,
to sharing a skill during a summer learning program, there are
plenty of opportunities for you to get involved.
Special Skill Share: Photography and Naturalists (June 10 - July
22) - Bring a photography activity or nature program to Golden
Valley’s seven playgrounds 1-2 afternoons a week during the
summer program.
Special Skill Share: Fishing (June 11 - July 16) - Share your passion
for fishing with kids ages 12 to 14 in the Fishing Club. Meets one
Tuesday a week from 9am to noon during the summer program.
Photographer - Photograph or videotape recreation programs,
events and facilities to document programs and events to use in
city publications, slideshows and on the city website.
Tournament Scoring Assistant - Assist at Golf tournaments with
scoring. The Tournament Scorer collects score cards and trans-
fers information onto the scoreboard. Dates are to be deter-
mined and will be 5 to 6 times throughout the spring summer
and fall. Typical day is four to six hours.
Junior Golf League Support - Assist youth beginners with rules,
etiquette, pace of play , safety and the enjoyment of the game
on Mondays from June 17 to July 23 between 6 am to 1 pm.
Dates and hours are flexible.
Golden Valley Golf Classic - Opportunities for volunteers include:
Greeter and Registration, Attester, Tournament Scorer, Refresh-
ment Table, Photographer and Lunch Servers and clean-up. This
event is on Friday, July 12 with opportunities between 7 am. and
2pm. Location – Brookview Golf Club
