Back in 2001, webrecruit changed the recruitment industry forever. At a time when companies were paying thousands to secure new talent, webrecruit saw a gap in the market and made a bold move by breaking away from the traditional recruitment agency model and pioneered a brand new concept – an easy to use, low-cost online recruitment service. Suddenly, businesses had a real alternative to the high costs of traditional agencies and press advertising. Ten years on, their innovative recruitment solution continues to go from strength to strength.

A technology success story

Through the application of ground breaking technology, webrecruit have helped drive down the cost of recruitment. They have also drastically cut the time it takes to find the best possible match of candidate and employer. Put simply, webrecruit

have given clients big and small more control over the recruitment process and for candidates a fairer way to be considered for their ideal job. Little wonder that, in the ten years since they opened for business, webrecruit have built a client base of around 4,500 made up of a heady mix of major industry players and SMEs.

A passion for innovation

Webrecruit’s aim is to continue to change the face of recruitment. They’re passionate about bringing candidates and employers closer together by embracing the latest technologies, delivering significant savings and being innovative. With significant investment in online resources and people, including social media channels, job boards, their own website and extensive knowledge of the sector, they offer a mass-market approach coupled with minimal risk.

‘The Real Deal’ is the incredible story of James’ remarkable life. With lucid realism, the journey starts from his childhood as a 1960s Pakistani immigrant in Brick Lane and his decision not to join the family business, through to the phenomenal success of his first headhunting company, Alexander Mann. Since its release, this intelligibly written but grounded life story has ranked at the top of numerous book charts. ‘The Real Deal’ has continued to appeal to people who are interested to hear the story of James the businessman but also James the personality behind the success.

The Real DealAn inspiring read

Never has the job market been tougher and candidates need all the help they can get to stand out from the crowd. It was the current economic climate that convinced James that it was time to gather his 30 years of experience in the recruitment market into one definitive and accessible guide, ‘Get The Job You Really Want’.

The book was aimed at candidates at all levels to help them at all stages of the recruitment process, from the initial application and crucial interview preparation, through to closing a deal on a job offer.

Within weeks of its launch, ‘Get The Job’ shot up the Amazon Charts to be ranked No. 1 in three categories and No. 20 in the overall chart. The book also attracted the attention of TV, Radio and Press and James conducted a range of media interviews to provide his insights on the UK employment.

Corporate Social Responsibility

When James sold his first company in 2002, he took a year off from his professional life to reflect on his journey and his achievements. That year saw him go back to school, and he successfully graduated from the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard University.

Following that he took a trip to Pakistan, the country of his birth. Once there, he very quickly became acquainted with one of its worst socio-economic problems – the severe lack of education and extreme illiteracy rates. The personal impact of having to go through life without a formal academic foundation, coupled with the fact his father was illiterate, compelled him to try and offer an alternative to the children he met. This was the starting point of an incredible journey of what was to be later known as the James Caan Foundation.

In 2010, the foundation was re-launched as The JCF, this time as a public charity managed by James’ daughter Hanah. The JCF, having now formed its own identity, represents the ethos of its founder, whilst focusing on three key causes:

• Education• Entrepreneurship• Disaster Relief

However, the foundation embodies a very entrepreneurial spirit itself. It employs very commercial values and structures to create better efficiencies within its own organization and projects, enabling greater impact for the causes it supports.
