Agent?!!!

Agents in the context of intelligent systems design

1. Agent confusion

2. Intelligence confusion

3. Cognitive confusions

Agent: a self-active entity with an autonomy in tasks execution.

In different domains, agents have many domain-dependent and role-dependent properties, names and … specific definitions.

Is it really multi-agent system ??

?Is it an

intelligent human agent??

Collaboration Goal: research and development of the symbolic model of an abstract intelligent cognitive system that could be applicable for description of human goal-oriented behavior and for the design of intelligent software units.

Innitial paradigms/hipothesis:

Cognitive intelligence is independent on agent’s specific knowledge, role, preferences and available information.

The approach follows systemic, physics and goal-oriented paradigms.

Collaboration Method: Exchange of experience, common publications, seminars, student thesis in ENEA, and preparation of a proposal in the subject matter of the EU project.

Current results

Power of Theory Turing and others proposed mathematical models for computing. This abstraction was invaluable in the study of computer science. ...

The immense value of the Turing machine is that when examining what sort of problems can be solved by a computer, one need only to examine a Turing machine, and not one of the millions of potential computing devices to determine if a computation is possible.
