Halloween Safety Tips
Kids look forward to Halloween for many reasons. They get to dress up in costumes and get free candy! Who wouldn't? Even some adults still like to go out trick or treating. It makes them feel young and happy again.
Here are some tips to help keep everyone safe on Halloween night.
Children should always go out trick or treating
accompanied by a responsible adult. If you
have a group of kids going, the parents
should choose two or three of them to go
along and keep an eye on things.
For older children, plan a safe route and a set
a time for their return home. Make sure that
your child is old enough and responsible
enough to go out by themselves. Make sure
that they have a cell phone on hand. Explain
why it is important to stay in populated and
well lit areas and to never go into a stranger’s
home or get into a stranger’s vehicle.
Make sure your children carry a flashlight,
glow stick or have reflective tape on their
costumes to make them more visible to
vehicles.
Instruct your children not to eat any treats
until you’ve examined them. This way you
can check for any problem candy and pick
some of the best stuff for yourself!

One day, a diver was enjoying the aquatic world, 20 feet below sea level.
He noticed a guy at the same depth, but with no scuba gear whatsoever.
The diver went below another 20 feet, and the guy joined him a few minutes later.
The diver went below 25 feet, and minutes later, the same guy joined him.
This confused the diver, so he took out a waterproof chalkboard set, and wrote, "How the heck are you able to stay under this deep without equipment?"
The guy took the board and chalk, erased what the diver had written, and wrote, "I'm drowning, you moron!"

Battery Check DIY
Did you know that many electrical issues and ignition problems stem from loose or corroded battery connections? Battery grime can also cause leaks and shorten the life of your vehicle’s battery.
The next time you check your vehicle’s fluid levels, check to see if your battery has any corrosion on the posts or cable connectors?
If you see any corrosion, you’ll want to clean both posts completely.
If the corrosive build up is not cleaned off, it will interfere with the electrical connection and can eat away at the wires and terminals, to the point of replacement.
However, make sure to use the appropriate brush. They are inexpensive and can be picked up at any auto parts store. One of the most important things to remember when performing a comprehensive battery cleaning is to make sure that you don’t allow the tools to contact the positive battery terminal and a ground source at the same time. This can destroy the battery. You’ll also want to make sure that the terminals are reconnected correctly and snuggly.
By having a great and clean connection, your vehicle’s electrical and ignition systems will run at their peak. It will also help prolong the life of the battery, save you money in the long-run and help prevent unwanted problems while driving.

Drive Like A Superhero
The Black Beauty is the name of the Green Hornet’s trusty side kick Kato drove. It had a few standard superhero features. The car in the 1960s series was revolutionary at the time for having a car phone.
It generally had two hood mounted M1919 Browning Machine Guns, two stinger missiles that can be fired from the front of the car, a flamethrower, four rear modified missiles, as well as guns stationed on the side of the car.
You can shoot from any area of the car while looking stylish at the same time. Even though the Black Beauty was based on a Pontiac Banshee during the NOW comic book series and a 1991-1996 Oldsmobile in another comic version; the Chrysler Imperial was the main stay
for the majority of Green Hornet’s legacy.
CHERRIES Key benefit: The phytochemicals help lower cholesterol and prevent heart disease. Choose fresh or frozen for best results – dried ones are higher in sugar.
HAZELNUTS Key benefit: They have immune-boosting vitamin E as well as phytosterols which help reduce LDL cholesterol absorption. Replace sugary snacks with a handful of hazelnuts.
DARK CHOCOLATE Key benefit: Chocolate that is at least 70% cacao is rich in compounds that can lower bad cholesterol. Satisfy a sweet tooth with a 1-oz square instead of high sugary snacks.
HUMMUS Key benefit: Just 1/4 cup provides 4 grams of fiber. It helps to remove LDL cholesterol from you GI tract. Use it in place of creamy or cheesy dips and dressings.

Don’t You Want to Know if Your Heat Will Blow HOT BEFORE You
REALLY Need It?
Here’s what you need to know. It may seem backwards but the heat works in conjunction with your engine's cooling system…
#1 Heating and cooling work together
The function of the cooling system is to remove heat from the engine. It does this for the most part by sending the anti-freeze that got heated up by the engine to the radiator located in the front of the car. The radiator cools the anti-freeze by allowing the outside air to blow across the anti-freeze (that’s why it’s in the front of the car – to get the coolest air). Then the anti-freeze is sent back to the engine to do it again.
Now, the heating part. Think of the heater core as a small radiator located inside the dashboard of your vehicle. When the heater is NOT on, anti-freeze passes through the heater core on its way to the radiator. Anti-freeze is constantly being circulated throughout the engine, radiator, and (yes) the heater core regardless of whether you have the heater dashboard switch on.
#2 Your heater core has anti-freeze circulating through it even when the heat is not “on”
When the heater IS turned on by the driver, a little door opens to the heater core area in the dashboard. A small fan (commonly referred to as the a/c fan or blower) comes on to blow air across the hot heater core into the duct work of the dashboard and into the interior of your car. That’s all pretty cool, right? So what does it mean when it’s not blowing hot? It could be a leak.
#3 Heater core leaks come from contaminants in the system, like air or rust
When the heater core leaks, it is leaking anti-freeze – NOT WATER! Because it’s in the dashboard, it will usually leak inside the car on the passenger floorboard under the carpet.
This is really important because … IT IS DANGEROUS TO BREATHE ANTI-FREEZE
So here’s what to look out for: 1. Wetness on the passenger-side floorboard 2. Sweet (chemical) odor 3. Greasy film on the INSIDE of the windows
Because the heater core has anti-freeze running through it all the time, having a leak is NOT related to how much you use the heat. You could have the leak anytime!! But … it’s a big risk in winter when you have your windows up all the time, your heat is on AND you’re breathing air inside the car ONLY!
Heating System Flush Special
We will flush out the anti-freeze in the system (We’ll be able to tell a lot just by what the fluid looks like, not just on top in the radiator but ALL of it)
We’ll replace the anti-freeze and check for any leaks
